>oh shit son a hard to read low res mspaint comic, guess im fucked

Cringe

I'm just not interested in it
It's probably cool but I'm happy with what I have and have no desire to spend money for it

Why do you care?

Wrong answer

Dumb fuck

tl;dr

I don't have space

I'm not reading all that, faggot
you lack finesse on your meme crafting, brevity is wit
drawings are good though
6/10 you can do much better

is the game any good by the way, in the verge of buying

my gf doesnt want it in the house

I don't like video games

Are valvebronies this autistic irl?

What do you mean

It's dogshit

dont want one

Right now it's worst moment to buy VR headset, will wait few months(recession+new models announcements+hype over Alyx will fade which will fill a lot of used headsets on market+big sales on new headsets because of overestimating VR market needs) and get one cheap.

I have a shit job that barely gets me trought the month with 12 hour shifts and will probably lose it too because of corona chan.

Why the fuck would I buy hardware that makes me physically sick?

My computer isn’t strong enough to handle one.
That, and I’m a cheap fuck

apparently the new argument is "IT HAS LESS PLAYERS THAN OTHER GAMES"

This confuses and enrages VR cucks

Attached: Howdareyoudontbuyit.jpg (3052x1960, 2.19M)

I have too many games on my backlog already, and every time I sit down to play I start to feel depressed because my local coop gaming buddy is dead.

is VR the new Star Citizen where people identify with a fucking product and are "part of something" and can't fathom why other people don't want that product?

>1200 dollars for fucking gimmick shit
LOOOOOOOOL

Nice poverty mindset

I got shitty eyes which have been getting exponentially shittier with age and experiences and i don't think strapping screens that flash lights right in front of them will have a good effect on the remaining "shelf-life". I also can't see the supposed "3D Effect" on shit with that gimmick (like the 3DS) either since each of my eyes have different problems. VR got some nice novelty waggle games though, so i will admit i would probably gotten one if my Eyesight was 20-20 and i was 10 years younger.

Why would anyone take the time to make this?

i'm jobless

Buyer's remorse, bro

Hahha europoorfag

>Get Driver4VR and VRRidge for like $30
>Sync joycons to computer
>Make headseat using my phone and cardboard
>Pirate Alyx
>Play

Nothin personnel Valve

does that actually works

Reportee this to steam

Enjoy permabsn

>every VR thread filled with seething poorfags

Imagine being this much of a beta.

BUYER'S REMORSE

For me, it's dual mouse

>y-you don't ACTUALLY like VR
Holy cope batman, imagine thinking 1k is anything to have buyers remorse over

I am not a buyer's remorse cuck who wasted 1k dollars for gimmick shit

>Someone actually made that long ass strawman comic
The buyers remose is strong

Still waiting for a big game that makes me feel the need to get it, which hasn't happened yet.

>every other antivr shitposter point debunked in OP
>seethies cling to the only one not mentioned
lol

Medal of honor, half life.. And so on

Kys

Didn't happen for me until Blade and Sorcery even though other titles interested me
Give it time, if it happens, have fun, if not, have fun with whatever else you'd prefer to be doing.

That's an actual valid reason, though. Some people just don't have the ability to be what they want to be in VR yet. I had star wars fantasies since I was a kid, so that worked out. If some dude really fucking wanted to be Spiderman, he wouldn't buy VR until he can effectively be Spiderman.

Because it's still unironically a gimmick.

It's taken a lot of steps in the last decade to getting there, but it's not there yet, and won't be there for another 10-15 years. It's still a super clunky and very unintuitive system.

This image is full of goalposting
>hurr same resolution

The real reason why I don't want VR is much more simple. My eyesight is already bad but VR will REALLY fuck anyone's eyes if you play for extended periods of time. Let's be real: nobody takes some gay ass fucking break every hour and looks into the distance.

>clunky and unintuitive
Elaborate or you're just using buzzwords

This whole quarantine has made me realize just how poor the average bitch is. No wonder VR has such a salt wall in front of it when most NPC savings are sub-$5000.

If you have the money then yeah the Index is worth the buy, but if a grand is going to break your bank well you'll be dead soon anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Attached: cosmo.jpg (612x610, 42.53K)

I have enough money yet didn't buy it because it's trash
So do you have any argument now?

Bad eyesight I can understand, but in terms of frying your eyes it's no worse than sitting close to the TV. Obviously not good to play before bedtime as well because the blue light fucks REM sleep up

Someone spent his time making that picture. Let that sink in

The headsets are clunky. Every single one of them. Outside of the grip system that Valve uses for their controllers, every single other controller is incredibly unintuitive and is more or less just a fucking Joycon at this point. Not to mention that outside of Boneworks practically none of the software/games have actual movement, it's all based on that shitty ass teleporting. Ergo clunky and unintuivite.

I want VR to succeed and be the new standard, but we're still a solid decade out from that, the tech just isn't there yet.

Name 3 VR games you have tried and give specifics on to why it's trash. Phone VR roller coaster shit doesnt count

>but in terms of frying your eyes it's no worse than sitting close to the TV. Obviously not good to play before bedtime as well because the blue light fucks REM sleep up
You're dumb as fuck if you think having a screen 1.5 inches from your eyes that takes up your entire vision and having a tv that's a few feet from you that is only a tiny % of your entire vision are even remotely comparable to what they do to your eyes.

I would only use it for porn.
I'm not at that coomer level yet

Because I'm poor.

>all based on shitty ass teleporting
This hasn't been true for a long time. All of the popular action titles (Arizona Sunshine, Memeworks, Blade and Sorcery, Walking Dead, Sairento VR, Pavlov VR, Alyx, Serious Sam, Espire 1, etc) all feature smooth loco. The controller gripes and clunkiness are fair points, however. My Quest is fucking heavy on the face.

aao.org/eye-health/tips-prevention/are-virtual-reality-headsets-safe-eyes
“Age limitations for VR technology might make sense for content, but as far as we know this technology poses no threat to the eyes,” said Stephen Lipsky, MD, a pediatric ophthalmologist who practices in Georgia."

VR is a new and rapidly evolving technology and I can almost guarantee any investment I make into it will just become obsolete within months. I don't really care about paying a premium to be playing a Campo Santo cinematic game when I can get 99% of the experience by just watching a commentaryless playthrough. This game was, as expected, just breadcrumbs for what is in store for HL3 and I'm glad I didn't shell out for the hardware.

Because I don't spend money on stupid shit that can't make me more money.

that's like your entire life savings lmao
how much is that even like $600? still gaming on a laptop, not enough for the pc or headseat

Bless you fuckers for recommending me The Walking Dead game.

>sets itself up as an open world RPG with crafting and weighty combat
>has an in depth item system
>anons told me I could kill anyone
>planned to be cheeky and kill tried to kill the tutorial NPC so I could bitch about it here
>shot the fucker in the head and his brains splattered on the window and I was standing alone in a dark room
>decide to salvage it and shoot myself in the head and then claim "Well you can't kill EVERYONE!"
>put the gun to my head and fire expecting the bullet to do nothing
>get instakilled

The melee is really fun too.

user...

Attached: scalpinglikeindians.png (527x1103, 160.78K)

What is it?
A PC makes me money, a VR doesn't, could spend money on one more PC instead to make even more money.

>budget gaming monitor
>$230
You can get a good "gaming" monitor for $230. Budget would be a 1080 144 at ~$150.
image is terrible bait anyway but I am mad.

Quests sold for 400 bucks. They're being scalped for double the price right now.

You mean the smooth locomotion that only allows you to move back and forth and still requires you to do all kinds of bullshit teleporting to properly control your character, the same "smooth locomotion" that's anything but smooth in practically every single game outside of Boneworks? I haven't played Alyx, but I've played a ton of other VR games since my roommate has a Quest, and they're all neat experiences for about 15-20 minutes before you realize just how barebones and how simplistic everything actually is. It's in the baby steps right now, which is fine. But people are acting like VR is 1:1 the same as consoles or PC gaming, which it isn't. At all. Not even remotely close. There are WAY to many shortcuts taken with VR movement.

>an autist took the time to make this comic

Sad!

>Name just one good reason to why you dont have a VR headset yet
I think VR is gimmick.

but you can make money if you give men lapdances in vrchat, user
you can make even more money if you give them a happy ending

It definitely isn't 1:1 to console gaming, of course games are more refined for a platform humans have spent decades mastering. That doesn't mean the experiences we have now aren't enjoyable, however. Smooth loco has never been a problem for me except in garbage like Rec Room. It's immersive enough.

Because I already played the Wii

>I think VR is gimmick.
It's unfortunate you think that way, Dimitri.

>VR fags are begging people to buy headsets so their shitty devices don't die in a near future

So your argument is that VR is worth more to scalp than as an actual product?

The faggot OP comic literally explains to you that the Wii only had rotational tracking and IR pointing. The motion controls in VR aren't even comparable. Even crappy WMR inside out tracking is leagues better than the Wii.

>lmao2mouse
but really, how?

>it's good enough
>it's immersive enough
>it's enjoyable enough

Sounds to me like you're just some low-IQ pleb who has no actual standards or taste and is full of buyers remorse who is trying to justify your incredibly stupid expense.

Oh sorry I meant to say I already played Wii Sports Resort

if you need that many words to prove you're right buying a piece of entertainment hardware, you're wrong by default
take less to prove Earth is round

Someone unironically spent their time making that picture.

Attached: You_wrote_that.png (895x955, 590.58K)

And here comes the shitflinging and same parroted buyers remorse bullshit. Shame on me for actually trying to have a discussion with you. Excuse me for not using good "enough" word choices for you.

They're uncomfortable and cumbersome. I'll consider getting VR when the entire thing is as light and simple as putting on a pair of sunglasses. Even then I won't if I can resist it, because it's some mark of the beast tier shit.

>all that TL;DR
>STILL no mention of Alyx's system specs
>just "hurr you can get cheaper headsets"
Fucking stupid. If your going to push Alyx as the reason to get VR you have to address the fact that game is far more demanding than any existing VR title.

There's only that many words because of the sheer amount of mental gymnastics involving a silly little headset. AntiVR fags always have a new imagined thing to bitch about instead of actual criticism.

>it's some mark of the beast tier shit.
vrlets are reaching new levels of cope
