All I've seen is a fantasy novel featuring a female couple and the fact they removed the male female labels from the selection. I don't know what the original novel was about but I'd be interested to know. Yuri is a more normal thing in japan because they don't have a bunch of people scouring social media looking for posts to validate their own beliefs.

There's a not-so-fine line between "localization" and "throwing the original script out the window" and Animal Crossing used to be a rare example of how to do the latter correctly. Unfortunately, now that literally anyone can be a "localizer" (and knowing Japanese is not even a strict requirement to do so) it's only going to get worse from here unless someone in the industry decides to start taking the business of proper localization seriously again.

A great example of what localisation is when you're in that classroom in persona 5 and they quiz you on shit a Japanese student is expected to know but you're not Japanese so you don't know these things. A localisation is supposed to make it more palatable to you so while the text isn't the same the experience is actully closer because you'd go "oh I should've known than" when fucking up, instead of "couldn't possibly have known that wtf is this"
