faggot writers

With season 1 you could say they were taking a very slow very loose interpretation of Castlevania 3, but in season 2 and especially season 3 the show turned into basically fan fiction. The fact that they didn't move on to another game was the red flag.

Hector is based for taking the mommypill. Meanwhile alufag gets a cock in his bum.

this but their interpretation of isaac is at least a good character despite being completely different

The writers have never played or watched the games, and they haven't done any research aside from skimming Wikipedia over ten years ago. Ellis also hates that Hector's VA can sound what he calls "heroic", so he despises the character as a result except for when he's tormented.

The writer didn't know anything on Castlevania except what he read on wikipedia, unironically.

I don't even know who isacc was supposed to be. I don't even remember him in the game

>but in season 2 and especially season 3 the show turned into basically fan fiction. The fact that they didn't move on to another game was the red flag.
Does anything beyond Season 1 contradict the games?

>tfw no 1999 game

Is the black guy shaft?

what does that even mean

why do directors do this? why is it okay? almost every movie/show coming out today is directed by people who actively choose not to understand the source material. of course they couldnt just do their own thing because they are unoriginal and know their ideas suck so they have to tack on existing IPs to garner attention.

To be fair, the CV games never had much in terms of lore until the PS era, and even then pretty much every MC Belmont, Alucard, or otherwise were pretty much the same person with a different coat of paint with the exception of Jonathan unironically.

>ywn ever be kept as a sex toy by a vampiress
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
IT'S NOT FUCKING FAIR
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I DON'T WANT TO FEEL THIS FEEL ANYMORE
COVID-19 TAKE ME NOW

For one the series didn't cover the events of Curse of Darkness yet, maybe it'll never get there though.

how the fuck do you not remember? you meet him at the beginning of the game

the battle where dracula's powers were sealed for good, mentioned in AoS and DoS. IGA recently said in an interview that he still wants to tell that story

anyway are you a bunch of fucking secondaries? what a shit fucking thread

Yes, almost everything related to Trevor and Sypha see religion.

anybody else feel season 2 and 3 was trash? First season had some cool scenes.

is the little guy with the dagger going to be in the anime?

The problem is the pacing is fucking garbage. It tries to be a heavily political show like GoT which results in characters doing fuckall for episodes at a time with the odd death or short fight here and there, when the series it's based on are action platformers that have you constantly killing monsters. The people that think them timeskipping to Simon will fix this are delusional because Ellis is still the writer and there's no way he'd change the show to an 80s style monster of the week action romp over his shitty wank.

I get that in regards to CV even though there is tons of shit they are shoehorning in that doesnt need to be there like the fact that there are so many homosexual characters. with Isaac I am actually fine with it since they handled it well but then you have the dyke vampire lovers and alucard getting butt fucked on screen.

then you have shit like the witcher which is originally a book series and was made very popular by the games. Netflix again makes their own version where geralt and his beast hunting adventures are a side plot for their main character triss who is absolutely cringey.

I could go on but its ridiculous

the dialogue is awful too. I cant explain it but every conversation sounds the same and is really dull.

He was there sorta, but not really.

There's people who think they'll skip to Ritcher because they can still use the trio which now is popular and changing the characters would alienate viewers.

>80s style monster of the week action romp
That's exactly what I thought this was gonna be. and then we get GoT animated buttsex edition.

would you becomes Lenore's sex-pet?

he uses it in season 4

>would you becomes Lenore's sex-pet?
Is there a better choice when living in the 1400's? Shit sucked ass then. I rather be a slave to a demonic vampire lady than die of dysentery.

There's no excuse for The Witcher since they had way more to work with in terms of background compared to CV. The over-representation of homosexuality just for the sake of it being there is political shut that has no place in a CV show or anything CV related. Some liberties are understandable, though, because even people who played Curse of Darkness forgot who Isaac was.

Netflix invents the church as antagonists when Dracula himself is the sole antagonist. It also uses the wrong church for the region and time period. At most the church is occasionally gray but never dark gray or evil in Castlevania, and it was a plague-afflicted village that was distrusting that killed Lisa, not the church. Carmilla wasn't even around in Castlevania III, and she has always been loyal to Dracula in the games. Speaking of which, Dracula genuinely wants to kill all of humanity in the games instead of getting depressed and stopping. If someone talked shit about his wife like Carmilla did in the main hall scene, game Dracula would have killed them on the spot. At most he'd have played nice for a few seconds then stomped her into his fireplace.

Season 3 is entirely fan fiction and the entire series is missing the fourth playable character from CV 3, Grant Danasty. Ellis says he thinks Grant being a pirate is stupid, but he doesn't realize that river pirates were a thing. Also, a pirate is just a thief anyway, so that's an easy fix.

Honestly they didnt really have to follow the lore completely since the show is a separate canon but they really shouldnt have killed off Dracula if they were planning a season 3 all along. Carmilla is such a garbage villain

Sure he does. It’s called pussy whipped and it’s being used against him.

Didn't the church kill Dracula wife for her medical practice? I haven't played Symphony of the Night in a long time, but that seems fairly critical of the church. Order of Ecclesia also sort of attacks the church.

>Grant Danasty
What a missed opportunity. but I guess they figured they had a good thing going with the main 3. Which isn't even a thing in season 3.

There were some throwaway lines making fun of a pirate in a couple later episodes. Pretty sure that was a jab at people want Grant in.

didn't know cartoons were video games

>I rather be a slave to a demonic vampire lady than die of dysentery.
Well Dracula's late wife wanted to prevent that kind of stuff.

Nevermind, I didn't read the whole post.

I don’t know. I suppose they want to cash in on a name at the same time hoping to be praised for making their own version of it. I’ll never forget watching Resident Evil for the first time in theaters and thinking to myself “wtf am I watching? I ended up repeating this mistake several more times when I went to see Max Payne & Doom. I just can’t deal with it anymore bro. I’m done.

at this point they'd fuck it up

Dracula gets killed and revived all the time, that's fine, the problem is that season 3 went practically nowhere when they could've easily moved into Curse of Darkness even with Carmillia doing stupid shit.

WTF HAPPENED IN SEASON 3? I felt like nothing happened

The whole he comes back thing never made sense to me, does he even keep his memory or is he like a different dude every game

>Seems to regret his decisions in life and asks Lisa to forgive him before he fades away in Sotn
>next game
>Oh I am reborn once again, what was I doing? Oh right kill all humans

He might become more like he was in the games after he gets free from the vampire queens.

Sex and pointless killings. The only thing of note that happened is that Isaac got the mirror and is little closer to Styria, that's it.

More or less, it seems he doesn't always return with the same mindset.

>implying he doesn't just kill all of the vampire scissor society whores

Fuck you, Yas Forums, I like Netflixvania. It's a decent interpretation of the basic premise and I love the action scenes as well as the banter between characters. I can understand the butthurt :^) over Alucard but even that makes sense character wise in the show. I swear, so many of you complain about how story doesn't matter in games but then get upset when adaptations aren't exactly 1:1.

>boy, I didn't do much today, tomorrow I'll whip myself into shape
>next morning
>what was I supposed to do today? Oh right, browse Yas Forums

A key distinction in the games is that while he considers if he made a mistake at the very end of SotN, he ultimately chooses to stay petty and spiteful. This is more clear in the Japanese version and the more accurately translated Dracula X Chronicles dub.

Story in games doesn't really matter, but for an animated adaptation they should try to stick to it.
I got baited, right?

Alucard possibly becoming like his father completely botches his character, and it even infringes on the territory of another character, Soma Cruz, whose whole arc is about possibly becoming (like) Dracula.

>Alucard possibly becoming like his father completely botches his character
well this convinces me to not watch it

Isn't Trevor in the games, and the Belmont clan in general, specifically allied with the church to an extreme degree? I don't get that feeling in the show

Key word there being "possibly." Is he not allowed to struggle with that part of his lineage at all?

I may be the only one, but sometimes season 3 makes it seem like all the characters have mild autism. I think its the combined effect of (at times) awkward/strange dialog and the shit animation budget making characters emote stiffly.

When the japanese twins came to alucard, i genuinely thought the sexual tension that their scenes gave off was unintentional, and found it hilarious, and started to meme about it with my GF. Needless to say I was surprised when the molestation scene came around.

Did people back in the medival ages even use the word fuck all the time? Obviously I dont mind cussing but it just felt a bit childish in the show

>I like Netflixvania
Me too, user. It's a trashy show, but I like trashy.

>Alucard possibly becoming like his father completely botches his character
I think the implication is he becomes less naive and emotional. Like his game counterpart. Stoic man that's been through some shit. I don't see how this go against what we already know about Alucard.

>allied with the church to an extreme degree?
but this is a western adaption. church bad.

For the 3rd I would have been more interested in watching Isaac become the Mad Arab and go full Necronomicon until he summons a spirit that decides to tear his body in half as payment for practicing the dark arts. Instead we got to watch Alucard get tied up and fucked in the ass.

to be honest there was only a very brief window where tv/movie adaptations of games or books was even close to the source material

Is there anyway they can fix this show or is it far beyond gone?

Yas Forums realizing Warren Ellis is hack
sorry he shit on something you guys love
Yas Forums understands

To fix it they would have to revamp everything at this point. It’s going to spiral in a direction that will piss off people that want it to be canon and it will attract people who probably knew little to nothing of the franchise beforehand.

They'd have to disregard whatever they're trying to set for the next season and head directly into Curse of Darkness with no more detours.

Alucard was already an adult (even if he was 18 or so) by the time his mother was executed in the Netflix series, and he then spent a whole year thinking over what to do next and steeling his resolve. By the time he sets off on the journey, let alone the time he kills his father, he should be plenty messed up emotionally and hardened. Alucard doesn't need anything else to make him like his SotN self, just time (over 300 years to be exact). Also, even with the betrayal at the end of Season 3, that still leaves him with two close human friends who helped him fulfill his ultimate decision in life. Even if two bad humans offset two good humans, that just leaves him where he was in Season 1: Distant from people but believing in his mother's teachings.

he's getting pissed at humans for bringing him back hoping he destroys humanity
and then pissed at humans for destroying him to save humanity
rinse and repeat

Well user, if they showed a white guy holding a whip then all the niggers who see it would be triggered and offended because we all know that niggers are weak little pussybrained child monkeys with child brains.

The whip is used on him

>Yas Forums understands
Elaborate.

warren ellis is a hack

All improvements desu.
