Did they? I remember having issues with getting portal 2 to work on my shitty laptop
No? do you even remember HL2?
Seeing the lackluster player count, Im glad it didn't over excel because now we might have a chance at half life being canned forever by investors
Fuck valve
This? Also post 2010 TF2 runs like shit.
HL2 was well known for requiring a monster of a computer on release user
and yet Portal 2 still had prebaked lighting entirely where most games had dynamic shadows.
Sorry OP but you're wrong.
t. zoom zoom who was born after hl2
Wrong.
>investors
Valve is privately owned, and has no investors.
The game came out on a Monday, and isn't multiplayer. It'll get played as people have time for it
Remember when Valve games were good?
You're wrong. Portal 2 had dynamic lighting, I remember it was one of the advertised features they updated the engine for back when it was first announced.
youtu.be
he wasn't born for another 7 years
This is just the flashlight lighting that orange box had, the shadows don't cast on the player model.
Remember when Valve lied about low-end rigs fully supporting vr?
Source on Valve not having investors?
Why would valve need investors? Gabe founded it with microsoft money and steam is absurdly profitable.
What world did you come from where a 2004 toaster pc could have run hl2 at a stable framerate?
Why reply if you don't have an answer?
Anyone else having problems running this? I have an RTX 2060 and Ryzen 5 2600 and the game runs like complete dogshit even on lowest settings.
From wikipedia
>Owner: Gabe Newell (50%)
Even if it had investors, it doesn't matter, because he'll have the final say.
Portal 2 was running on my shitty $400 Walmart laptop with a 4250 (medium settings) at release. Tf were you running?
Actually, I looked up the source on wikipedia and it might be wrong. Gabe cofounded valve with Mike Harrington, but he bought out his share, so it's possible that Gabe has 100% control unless he gives equity to his employees.
what does this even mean
Zoom Zoom
I'm not sure what you're getting at, bro. The fairly low end 1650 Super already reaches minimum requirements
>top 20 for a fucking VR game
>lackluster
oi im laffin
No? How new are you retard.
oh fuck
>chance at half life being canned forever by investors
This is exactly how retarded you look when you make statements about shit you dont fucking understand at all, stay in school Kids.
oh wow it's top 20 out of the 3 good VR games
>by investors
I remember when perfectly working, stable and smooth CS 1.5 started to work like shit when it got updated to 1.6 and required Steam, so no.
No.
HL2 was fucking shredding toasters when it came out.
seethe schizo
valve is made out of money ,they get 30%cut of every pc game , privately owned no investors , the founder alone is worth 3,5 billion dollars , they can make 10 Hl Alyxes and never sell a copy and it wouldnt make a dent
>Full facial animations
>Physics engine
>Low specs in 2004
Are you unironically retarded?
Zoomer pretending he knows shit at all
remember use hat
2000s Gamers had to upgrade in tandem for Doom 3 and Half-Life 2. And for the record Alyx has some godly visuals (that fucking lighting)
If this game did you would be complaining consoles are keeping the industry back.
You can't win with PC "gaming".
Oh you mean like 10 years after they launched?
Yeah.
Even HL:A is playable with 970 and 2500k.
Fuck I'm playing with index, 1060 and 2500k and it runs fine
Retard.
I'm watching a playthrough and silly British quip man is annoying. Please tell me he dies.
yeah back then hl2 ran a lot better than doom 3 for me. I had a shitty budget geforce 5000 series gpu on a crappy compaq from walmart with 256 mb of ram that i later upgraded to 1 gb that i stole out of other computers.
Yup. Still to this day. I'm playing on a 970 and it's super smooth.
Is this Schizo posting ?
They're forcing games to progress for the first time in a fucking decade. Stop crying, peasant.
i couldnt run hl2 til 2010. you're wrong
hi, i just dropped in to call you out as the election newfag that you are. have a wonderful evening.
>as people have time for it
You mean like in a quarantine where they're stuck at home, you huge faggot?
>he didnt tweak the CFG for better performance to get a beefy extra 10~20 fps
A Pentium III and geforce 2 literally could run HL2 smooth with textures at low
retard
I think you are running out of excuses to say is a bad game, and no to the contrary, it was always a monster to install back in those days very few computers were able to run the game i remeber see a video from a beta video of HL2 back in 2003 and the public were joking in the public
"Can i run it on my Pentium 3?"
Another retard. They said "can my 386 run it?" not a Pentium 3. Again, a Pentium 3 could run HL2 perfectly fine.
lol no, Half Life games always shat your computer up, but this time it's inflated
They are only worth $4B, way less than several other game companies.
I wouldn't be surprised if they took no cut from most big games and only made money from indies.
this. It was burning shit left and right, you could properly play HL2 in late 05 or 06 with all DX9 stuff on
this is your average anti-vr poster, knowing literally nothing
tiny brain
Bullshit. A radeon 9800 xt from 2003 could run it at 720p
1280x1024 at 60.fps
Metal Gear Solid 2 had all of that on PS2 in 2001
It's literally a private company that got funded on Gabes previous job.
