Actually based. Rechargeable controllers are ass

>I WANT my controller to have a proprietary, internal battery that when it goes bad means I have to buy a whole new controller rather than just pop in new batteries
jfc the media is running some serious damage control for Sony after that joke of a presentation

Buy our rechargable battery, or buy our Elite controller please

I should book a free health check for my Audi

based
>power goes out
>still can play with my xbox controller

>outdated feature
hope that guy kills himself

Cope

I also can with my ps4 controller
What's your point ?

Nice font phone faggot

In what world batteries are outdated? This is some sort of nigger conspiracy isn't it? Or they are thinking that sitting with usb cable every 5 hours of gameplay to recharge your controller is a fucking future?

>I WANT to spend money on batteries that will absolutely add up to more than the cost of a controller in short order and be less convenient all the while and will probably break in the same period of time as a battery going "bad!"
okay retard

>power goes out
>still can play with my xbox controller
>power out
>can still play
This your brain on Microsoft

its all part of the industry's continued attempt at planned obsolescence. Microshit is already in hot water in general so they're doing whatever they can to save face.

It was a joke you s󠛡o󠛡ynig󠛡ger

Pic?

>outdated feature
so when did batteries become obsolete?
cause yeah, stores still sell em by the truckload
fucking retarded """""journalism"""""

Please tell me you're not actually this dense.

don't you want to buy a new controller once its batteries die? get on with the times grandpa

>Wii U pro controller battery life - 40 hrs
>Switch pro controller battery life - 20 hrs
>Xbox Elite controller battery life - 40 hrs
>DS4 battery life - 3 hrs
Why is Sony so shit at battery life?

Based Google making sure I can't open my controller with anything less than a dremel.

>this your brain

Are you stupid or do you not know what rechargeable batteries are? You can have four charging in a wall with normal chargers

well, he's not wrong
he can just keep lighting up the "X" button repeatedly

Then buy AA rechargeables?

They're based in California now, so expect them to be shit at everything.

this

you have been playing videogames for at least 2 decades of your life if not more. Why wouldn't you have a stack of AA and AAA with a few chargers for this kind of shit at all times??

this guy plays consoles, no way a pc-chad would be this moronic and/or poor

Just plug in your controller when you aren't playing you fucking old man. I play video games an unreasonable amount and I have literally never once had to deal with my rechargeable controller going dead on me mid-play session.

Best fucking purchase I ever made.

Because it has a fucking touchpad and permanently on RGB LED, dummy.

based absolute double digit iq stealth retard

what are the best rechargable AA batteries, Yas Forums?

Based controller

>No back paddles
>AA Batteries when you can just plug a controller with rechargables in when not playing and almost never ever run out of power

Backwards junk.

Came here to say this

see

reminds me of back when the GBA was around.

love those AA rechargeables.

>so when did batteries become obsolete?
When rechargeable lithium ion batteries became cheap and efficient enough to replace them?

Why the fuck would I want to have to constantly spend money on batteries? And why would you want more batteries rotting in landfills?

You can buy replacement batteries, you fucking moron.

I get the impression that people who have controllers die on them mid session are just sloppy in general.

I'm done playing a game, controller goes in the charging cradle. Fully power next time I touch it, every time.

>Why wouldn't you have a stack of AA and AAA with a few chargers for this kind of shit at all times??
Because I don't need them, because next to nothing still uses fucking AA batteries?

That's a good way to cut years off your battery life.

all batteries eventually lose their charge capacity and die permanently. the issue is not that the controller will running out of juice while playing, it's that it will eventually die completely and the only option is to buy a completely new controller or a proprietary battery pack, instead of a new set of cheap rechargeable AA's.

it is the same problem that smartphones have where they barely hold a charge 2-3 years after you buy them. you are probably familiar with this concept.

I'm using 6+ year old ps4 controllers and 13 year old ps3 controllers this way and they are just fine.

I can replace the internal battery if I ever need to.

You don't always have to wear batteries down to empty before charging them. This is a myth.

Hey, I like the feature. It's a lot more practical to just use rechargeable AAs instead of some cell that dies and forces you to either source another cell or get a new controller.

xbox 360 / one controllers
wii controllers
wii wireless sensor bar (also compatible w/ wii u)
oculus rift controllers

just some shit within my reach.

even then, its still better than all the bullshit you'd go through otherwise, you fucking dumbass.

all the same, AA rechargeables, yeah, those exist.
now get back to sucking off EA, actiblizz, or whatever dumbass publisher you be workin for, thanks

Controllers die in general, battery or no, I'm pretty fucking gentle on my controllers, not one of those screaming retards who fling controllers across the room when they die, and even my controllers will eventually wear out.

use a wired controller then you fucking slavering inbred

So buy the replacement battery. It isn't like AA is much more useful these days

My ps4 controller lasts 10+ hours. Easily.

>10+ hours
HAHAHAHAHA

8bit - upto PS2/xbox so long as you open up your controllers and clean off the buttons every decade or so, there's literally no reason they can't outlast you.

I can't speak for the modern stuff but I'm sure they're now designed to break within a decade.

flashlights
smoke detectors
lantern type lights
various decorative holiday shit

can literally keep going on and on

I thought the Switch Pro had a 40h life?

mine lasts about 5

as a PS4 owner please dont embarrass us

>buy tiny microsoft mouse
>runs on 1 AA battery
>lasts 8 months
based

id rather see this planet burn.
more batteries rotting, the better.

it does, at least mine does

When will these companies realize that what we all want is basically what 8BitDo is doing, give us a rechargeable battery that's removable, now everyone's happy.

Attached: dsc04806_final-100807770-orig[1].jpg (2000x1125, 2.04M)

Wii U Pro was 80; Switch pro is rated for 40
Anything with analog sticks will break given regular use.

embarrassing

Wii U pro has 80 hours
Source: I own one, only ever charged it like 3 times

mine doesn't. a battery loses 50% of its charge in the first year. it will only get worse over time. at least with changeable batteries you can just replace them once they start struggling to hold charge for a long time. removable batteries was a big thing for smartphones and many people got annoyed when phones had built in batteries.

you can technically buy those for the xbox, but not the switch or ps4

>10+ hours

If you put rechargeable batters in the xbone controller they can be recharged over usb

All of those things are obsolete
>flashlights
included in your phone
>smoke detectors
mine use 12V
Who the fuck uses that other shit

Imagine having to charge your controller every day or two.
That's Wii U Gamepad levels of ass

xbox one controllers take AA or rechargeable xbox-specific batteries. i bought two 3rd party xbox controller batteries for like a tenner a few years back. i can recharge them with the micro usb cable plugged into the controller as well.

I just plug my 360 pad in, I'm 2 feet from my PC, it doesn't need to be wireless and eat batteries every week.

Wii controllers are from 14 years ago, and they should have had rechargeable batteries in the first place.

I have no idea why the Rift uses fucking AAs.

oculus controllers are current what are you talking about you retarded zoomer?

the xbox has always supported those, buy 2 packs, switch between them and you can play wireless forever

bait

Get an Index, poorfag

I play mine plugged because of that, then again I also play my xbox controller plugged, the only one I play wireless is the Switch.

Got this

Attached: 20200323_150500.jpg (2560x1440, 804.69K)

I like the batteries, makes the controller heavier

If that's what you want then glue some weights inside

>>I WANT my controller to have a proprietary, internal battery that when it goes bad means I have to buy a whole new controller rather than just pop in new batteries
Holy shit you're fucking stupid, you can buy new batteries.

Also, shit like this exists, you can literally have both. Why the FUCK would it be better to only have the one option, to only be able to use AAs?
>store.nintendo.com/joy-con-l-joy-con-r-aa-battery-pack.html

Mine literally doesn't even last a second, fucker needs to be plugged in constantly and it turns off immediately when unplugged.

When will you realize they don't give a fuck what you want? All of you are still going to buy a ps5 for full price, why would they care?

Neat, didn't know you could charge the batteries via usb cable. I guess there really is no reason to use a Dualshock 4

I play my wii u wired since the Gamepad is unironically the comfiest controller I've ever held, and I play my ps3 wired because ds3 has shit life too. Switch is wired as well because I have these nifty 3rd party controllers shaped like a gamecube controller that actually work great, and this is all why I bought a usb extension cable.
