Probably Vlandia. I would've liked Battania as I like Celts in the more romantic underdog way they sometimes get portrayed. You know with the woad and woodlands and good music and such. However the Battanians are more of the retarded barbar cow thief smothered in shit version of a Celt, which isn't really my thing. I'll probably make multiple characters eventually anyway, but for my first it'll probably be Vlandia.

You listed a lot of my reasons for liking the Battanians. There is a slight novelty in joining the only culture that isn't in warband.
There doesn't seem to be even a semi equivalent city.

Battania might be unplayable on release. Ambushes were removed because, understandably, they were dogshit from a gameplay perspective, and their dense map space, being surrounded by cunts, and unarmored shock infantry was meant to be offset by the fact that every battle they fought on home turf would involve them spawning in nearly on top of you. I'm really hoping they buffed their troops significantly or else it'll be a dogshit faction with unarmored idiots getting pelted by arrows and mediocre archers.

do you think they'll do a Nord invasion DLC? it'd be cool if you could still hire Nords like Varangians and if there were a few Nord companions and invade Sturgia of your own volition to form their Kingdom

was going to a unify the Empire on my first playthrough but now I'm thinking that forming a Vlandian crusader start on Aserai and Imperial territory might be more fun
also mostly waiting for the inevitable ASOIAF mod poured so much time into ACOK and Bannerlord's supposed dynastic and other expanded gameplay seems like it'll be better suited

I don't think it's necessary. There should already be nord raiders and a fully nord minor faction of mercenaries. You can just hire those guys

The 2h Battanian weapons are overtuned and it still isn't enough because for some reason the T*rks decided to give every retard and his mother 10+ throwing weapons to hurl. You end up in a symbiotic relationship with shieldniggers and if the trend (rightfully) continues, shields are going to keep getting tuned until they're not indestructible.
