There are people on Yas Forums right now, in the year 2020, that still have never beaten Dark Souls

Well? What's your excuse?

Attached: Dark_Souls_Cover_Art.jpg (256x330, 54.67K)

I know some Yas Forumsirgins that refuse to play it basically just because it's popular.

I got bored by Bed of Chaos. I did beat DS3 thiugh

maybe because not everyone is into the same genre of games
It's understandable considering that whatever is mostly discussed here and on reddit is trash. Thankfully I played it a bit early without knowing jack shit about it. If all you know about a game is jewtubers like afro and memes it makes sense to avoid it

Its a bad game with artificual diffiuclt and monotone gameplay.
I prefer sekiro

>bored
Why do faggots use this term for these games? Is it programmed into them to excuse their getting-filtered as "boredom"?
You didn't get bored, you got beat, nigger.

I actually did beat it
Without summons and without a guide
The hardest boss was 4 kangs

People are allowed to not like games.
t. 1000 hours across all Souls games on PS3 and PC

because its a bad game? because isn't fun? because im not a try hard who has to beat a game that doesn't enjoy in order to somehow show off "skill"?
>imb4 git gud scrub
uh huh...

>let me tell you what fun is
the absolute state of soul niggers

The Xbox one and switch versions are equally garbage. Too lazy to find PTD on PC and install DSfix, one day I'll just buy the remastered on Switch probably.

I tried, several times. It was just not my cup o' tea. I prefer more strategic or puzzle-oriented games, so every fight involving the same few buttons and techniques (for the most part) made it feel like an eternal slog. It didn't help that there was essentially no plot to keep me going, or much sense of character progression.

I'll admit the minimal soundtrack, level interconnectedness, setting, and sense of playing for stakes were really cool. I got as far as somewhere in Anor Londo with my first character (tank and spank knight), and the Depths with two others (most boring was sorcerer, definitely easy mode for at least as far as I played).

tedious bullshit

filtered hard

Too hard for movie-game playing reddit faggots even though it's literally easier than the first Super Mario Bros
Just look at posts like and crying about the muh difficulty.

It was nice of them to put the posters itt right into the game after the starting area.

>crying about the muh difficulty.
Yes, especially when my post implys that its to easy and the difficult lvl is just made up.
Theres nothing hard about having to run 5 minutes to reenter a bossfight, its just tedious.
Being able to respawn right infront of the boss didnt make sekiro an easy game either, or did it?
So why is that eternally long traveling even a thing?
Darksouls fags are the most pathetic people on this board, right after quakefags

quote my post, when exactly i said ANYTHING about difficulty, you fucking doble nigger. your fucking game sucks ass, moves like shit and beating isn't an achievement, kys soulshit and take your faggot simulator with you

tfw literally beat it today

Beat it and don't understand why it's synonimous with difficulty in vidya, I died more times in Super Mario Bros 3 and unironically in Skyrim too. I guess people are too retarded when they don't have a minimap and quit the game. Pretty sure I fucked up my build too and it was still pretty easy, I don't get it.

my friend refuses to play it because he thinks the only reason it's popular is the difficulty
shame

Attached: 14.png (400x460, 115.87K)

It doesn't have a difficulty selector.
That is the SOLE reason why it's so famous among redditors and normalfags as "LE VERY HARD GAME IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT!!!", because they can't just die two times in a row and then crank the difficulty all the way down so that they don't get their feelings hurt anymore

These same faggots also probably praise SMB3 as one fo the best games of all time yet i bet if they actually tried it they wouldn't even get past the first world, kek

Attached: bottle-2.png.jpg (546x357, 35.3K)

Hardest bosses for you? Top 5

Mine:

1. Manus
2. Kalameet
3. Artorias
4. Ornstein and Smough
5. Sanctuary Guardian

Actually no difficulty selector makes sense, especially since most people here probably grew up on PS2 generation games. NES and SNES always never had it and some games were nearly impossible. I wish games like Double Dragon II and Contra games had higher difficulty settings.

can i say i've beat it if i killed gywn but didn't kill priscilla, artorias, kalameet and manus

1. capra demon
2. kalameet
3. o&s
4. artorius
5. stray demon

Dark Souls isn't hard in that it has a pretty damn low reflex requirement, enemies that engage in a predictable manner, etc. However, it does demand the player actually pays attention to the game. Mario 3 has a higher reflex requirement, some of its jumps have much tighter timing than dodging/parrying in Dark Souls, but there's never any question about "what's next". Sure, there are some optional path branches, but the way forward is always absolutely clear.

Still, Dark Souls really isn't difficult at all. It's not Ninja Gaiden or Castlevania 1.

keep crying souls cuck

Я eё eщё 9 лeт нaзaд пpoшёл, лoл

Yeah I remember dying in that trappy castle a few times (my fault) and almost dying to Dragon's fire and to the roof archers. Other deaths are mostly from trying to jump to certain items. I was paying attention mostly to learn the lore once I felt safe and died stupidly a few times by rushing a bit.

I beat it earlier this year. I have not felt so much fun and been that engaged in a game since I played God Hand.
Is DS2 and 3 worth a playthrough as well?

Why didn't you do the rest of the dlc after the guardian?

Based af.

Difficulty selectors are a good thing, especially because not each game is made for the challenge.
I'm fine with dying 12 times to ishin, because challenge is what the game is about, but i really dont feel like doing that in story driven/adventure games.

I'm fine as long as there is no time limit, like in System Shock and some older games. Or if it's not something stupid like in Nier Automata where everything one shots you (maybe would be fine if dodge worked better and that second playable character was more fun).

playing it right now, got stuck on gargoyles (whatever they are called), tired of running the same route for 2min just to get shit on -.-

Game was boring. Every kept saying you're going die in the game many times. I played through the first 5 levels without dying and decided this game was only hard for people because of its hype. That being said, its an alright Castlevania rip.

just turn human and get solaire up in that bitch to help you

Summon a sunbro (me, I am farming for a better spell).

I never summoned anything in this game
Just go to the blacksmith and improve your weapon instead. or pick a different weapon that suits your playstyle/does better against the boss.
Just use the halberd

fuck me Dark Souls 2 is such a shit game

>first time playing Dark Souls on PS3 (launch window)
>beat Nito but stopped around the Seath encounter cuz I got bored and homies were playing other games so I started spending time doing that instead

>second time playing Dark Souls (PC)
>DaSfix only fixed resolution issues but the game still ran like ass, quit pretty early on

>third time playing Dark Souls (remastered, PS4)
>beat Beavis and Butthead, go back to Firelink and realized I went full retard and used the Firekeeper's Soul and I couldn't stand to play anymore with Firelink all sad and shit
I haven't played Sekiro yet but I've beaten DaSII and III and have Platinums for Bloodborne and Demon's Souls. Dark Souls is definitely better than 2 but I lose the will to play after a certain while.

>the first 5 levels
t. didn't play it

Needlessly difficult. Hard for the sake of being hard rather than trying to tell a story or get a point across.

But everything dies in 3-10 hits, how is it needlessly difficult?

1. NG+7 4kings
2. NG+7 Gywn without parrying
...
Rest are easy.

Although when I was learning the game I would say the main 3 DLC bosses were the hardest along with 4kings.

Clearing areas and being forced to stop, go back and do it over because I didn't play this 'open world' game in the 'right order' and got the plot item first got old.

Dark Souls is garbage. I don’t play garbage games, simple as.

It isn't a hard game, nobody that has beaten it thinks so. It's a game that demands you be patient and think, if that's 'hard' for you then maybe you shouldn't be playing games.

>tfw Dark Souls is almost 10 years old
where has the time gone bros

Attached: f9bzyin755g31.png (776x545, 666.45K)

Only got it when it came out on Switch. I rang both bells, but I haven't found Blight Town. I wandered around for a while, but still haven't found it.

>Needlessly difficult
There's nothing exceedingly difficult about most of it unless you're a newbie getting griefed, and even then the game doesn't explain the benefits of reversing hollowing to well so you can treat it as a single player game (like you rightly should).

Based.

Too clunky for me, I much prefer DS3

>t.tryhard faggot who spent hours studying the wiki
Sure you can break the game when you use every exploit imaginable but to a new player it punishes you the second you let your shield fall to your waist. Then after you die a second time it punishes you even further making it harder for new players while the dorks who watch YouTube videos studying every glitch in the game runs through it. A mechanic that rewards veterans and punishes new players is not a good mechanic.

>2011
>Never heard of Souls
>Pick up Dark Souls at FUCKING GAMESTOP because I was bored and wanted an RPG
>Didn’t have internet in my apartment so no invaders, but also no messages
>Still had a flip phone
I wanna go back.

No it doesn't. Skeletons in starting area are weak as fuck and take forever to kill you without a shield. There is literally no punishment to dying a second time, unlike in Demon Souls. And most popular builds don't even use shields, for those who are "studying the wiki". You are just bad.

>it punishes you the second you let your shield fall to your waist
Then keep your shield up if you're not getting the rolls right, dingus. Dark Souls isn't punishing to "new players", it's punishing to underaged idiots who don't play video games.

To be fair, watched some people playing it and the hardest thing about it seems to understand that you dont fucking buttonmash, and back off after 2 hits instead of trying to make unnecessarily more dmg.
Some people will learn it at the first time, some never i guess.

Ds2 is a horrible game and wasn't even made by the same people just skip it and play Ds3.

If you haven't been to blighttown you haven't run both bells.

I mean if you played WoW, any D&D game, almost any dungeon crawler, Monster Hunter, Ninja Gaiden etc you would know that you can't just button mash like in Skyrim.

>Is DS2 and 3 worth a playthrough as well?
2's an abortion of a game
3's fun but unnecessary. If you value bosses above all it's the best

Attached: mDWbv4R.gif (500x208, 1.46M)

Guess, if you played any game, but most games today have difficult sliders that allow you to keep winning by buttonmashing if you just set it easier, so people wont learn that

I didn't even beat Bloodborne until the other day. I wish I didn't put it off for so long because I imagine the online is dead now.
