I mean, that never really happened though. In Nioh, if you get hit, you can block the second attack, even if you still look like you're in hitstun.

This is true of pretty much everything in the game.

I'm not saying Nioh was 100% fair, and there were no fucky hitboxes, but they definitely exist in the souls games too.

No. Cancels when you both backstab at the same. It's hard to do consistently. But whenever you can do it, you avoid all backstab damage. As far escape is concerned, you can do it consistently if you know the timing and the setup. It's kind of like the parry into chain backstabs. It works only if you get the timing right.

I feel like the hitbox quality depends on the enemy in that game. Some are perfect while many others are incredibly dubious. Though, by far, the tracking is the most obnoxious thing that plagues the PvE. The unicorn ogre's grab is by far the most cancerous move they have ever created in terms of hitbox/tracking quality.

You goddamn idiots. You can't run to the sides while locked-on in Bloodborne. To run to the sides of a boss and keep the camera on it you need to be both pressing Circle and handling the left stick (i.e. clawing) because you also can't change binds in Miyazaki's Hardcore Experience.
