Hehe wouldn't it be funny if we gave the boss a move that permanently gimps the character? xD

Yeaahh I don't really like it either. I know people like matthewmatosis cream their pants because the developers "had balls" or something but after the first couple of times he does it to you it really loses all charm and gravity. Once you lose one level you'll need to re-level anyway so losing a second or third level is really no different.

I like gimmicks and gimmick boss fights and wish the souls series did it more after DeS. By the time 3 rolls around the boss encounters get so boring, even if they're not usually "easy".

How the fuck do you get hit by it more than once. The wind up is ridiculously long, you should know what's coming after the first time. Really you shouldn't even get hit by it un thenfirst place but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt

What's funny is giving players a move that permanently gimps other players.
In both cases, you have to be handicapped to get hit at all.

>git gud
Why would you expect anything else but this reply

True response, gimpers gunna gimp

This unironically, there is actually a button for each souls game that if you press it a the right moment no matter what eneime you will take NO damage whatsoever. And people complain that its difficult?

Yes.

>only retard posting git gud
>hurr durr why would you expect normal responses
read the thread before trying to fit in next time

I love that in my porn games, specially involving succubi or fetish levels

Me too, I tried to emulate it in all games by making myself pop another bead in whenever I die, but I developed a tolerance, so now I’m trying to find a good set of progressive overload style plugs so I can make myself put in a bigger one every time. I wanted to make each one last 48 hours so there’s not much “cooldown” time acting as a buffer zone when I’m not gaming, but that might not be feasible right now, so I’ll start with 24 hours and try to work my way up from there.

what move are you talking about? I've beaten him twice and never got hit with such a move

>in all games
stop making everything about it, it takes the magic off of special moments

I’m not retarded, I only do it if I’m playing a girl.

what does he do again, lower your levels? Been a while since I've played

Yeah, it was fucking cool.

he has a super long wind up grab attack that drops your level by 1

Souls Suck, It's a move where his hand starts glowing big and white and when he grabs the player he permanently drains one full soul level away. You can't ever get it back, even by killing him. It's gone forever.

>hurrrr I'm so good I never get it
I'm only human. Have you ever tried a combat sport? There will be times where you get hit by the same thing multiple times after you've learned to see it coming; it takes time for your body to adapt along with your brain. But I guess you're so good at Demon's Souls you never leave the house.

On one playthrough I remember realising I was a bit overleveled and couldn't find co-op signs as easily, so I got hit by Soul Suck a few times on purpose to fix it.

>Dude what if we made enemies that could delete your party members from the save file completely
>That would be a pretty rough boss, Rob
>Boss? Who said anything about a boss? this is just a normal fucking enemy

If you die in that fight, your soul puddle will have the lost level in it.

Is this game even possible to beat?

Sure, it's not like its Wizardry 4.

How much of a loser are you do you need to compare two different things just to hold yourself above someone who was better at a game than you?

>Light wea-

Pretty sure the people who made any wizardry games had long since ascended beyond mere words and now speak in telepathic spikes of pain that lodge themselves in the unprepared brains of lesser mortals.

Alright user. Have a good isolation. Thanks for ignoring the discussion entirely to try to wave around your "skills".

Man, I really love that game, but holy shit has it become easy. I need something to make it more challenging.

Played Demon Souls recently for the first time, pretty cool game. It was more charming than DS3 somehow. I missed 70% of npc interactions apparently, might replay another time for those. Shame that the game is so linear and short
Nexus best hub

Keep crying, faggot. I'm sure that really gets you those levels back and undoes those poor dodges.

>git gud
>HURR INCEL

You're just being an overly defensive bitch now. I'm shit at these games but if you seriously get hit multiple times by that long as fuck windup animation you've probably got a problem which makes sense considering how to heart you're taking all this on an anonymous image board.

>ASCII/Agetec is MIA/DOA with all their Nintendo releases since 2010 (literally everything they'd published since then) delisted from the eShop
fucking sad

This.

I was painfully average at my absolute best and pretty much never won PvP encounters, but Soul Suck has such an obvious tell I never got hit by it even once. I had to find out what it was by talking to people.

Allant has a lot of quick moves and he killed me many a time but if you get hit by Soul Suck more than once what is literally wrong with you?

he's the last true boss so it's not like it matters

i beat every boss in this game on the first try
Souls games aren't hard, you just don't play cautiously and have no sense of your surroundings because you're retarded

>It's gone forever.
Or until you level up again. You're not prevented from rising back up to that level, or even past it.

It delevels you, and that's a big deal, but you make it sound like some insurmountable obstacle when it's really a very minor setback, comparatively.

I feel like a lot of this game was trivialised by the fire spray spell, once you had it, you just had to maintain some distance from your enemy and just melt them down.

>Playing with magic

I made some lame runs, but not Magic-lame.

*invades u*

>noooooooooo you can’t just dab on enemies that keep assraping me, you have to use some lame ass gay phallic and roll around in the dirt like me!
seething meleecuck

Nigga, the game is easy enough as it is, no nees to trivialize it further.

It meant that the souls taken from you can't be recovered.

in fear and hunger i got defeated by a common monster prison guard and i was locked up and raped and had lost both my legs and my knight girl was constantly farting blood because of severe anal bleeding

Pretty sure the guide that came with one of the special editions of the game recommended you to go into magic, ending in using firestorm casts to annihilate bosses. Even the official damn guide knew that magic was some OP shit.

No retard he didn't make it sound like anything but what it is. You are prevented from getting that level back, it is gone forever

>i-it’s actually super easy lol I j-just get upset that you are having an easy time with this easy game
coping seething meleecuck

>You are prevented from getting that level back
stop being intellectually dishonest
you're not prevented from anything. you pay the souls and level up again.

So assuming I just kill some more enemies, level up again, and put the same point into the same stat, in what way does this, as the OP puts it
>PERMANENTLY GIMPS the character? xD
Emphasis mine.

>level 10
>soul suck
>level 9
>level up
>level 10
vs
>level 10
>no soul suck
>level 10
>level up
>level 11
this is not a difficult concept to grasp

Yes, but its impact is heavily dependent on when it happens. If you reach him at a very low level, the soul drain is not a big issue. It's a problem when/if he soul drains a character where leveling up once can cost hundreds of thousands of souls or more.

Weren't there enemies in Diablo that permanently reduce your Max Health? Some games will delete party members, as mentioned in this threat.

In contrast, this just backtracks a process. King Allant isn't from Darkest Dungeon, he's from Demon's Souls.

This is honestly not that different from permanently losing souls from dying.

Maybe if you're an idiot. This example keeps the level but you lose potential levels by losing souls. The former is actually having souls stolen from you. It's like saying that piracy actually steals money from the developers and publishers wallet instead of being nothing more than a loss of potential customers.

I got hit by that a couple of times and didnt even realised i lost a level..
Do you lose a stat at random?. Must suck if you are minmaxing and you cant weild you weapon until you level up again
