If a game is primarily made with speedruns in mind, that's horrible. It's alright if you throw them a bone and put some stuff catering towards them in it but centering the entire game around it is a recipe for disaster

I don't know when they had a "good" streak. They had a better than they used to be streak. But their games are still riddled with DLC/Microtransactions and RE2 was gimped compared to the original. It was fun enough, sure, but Jesus that DLC. Same with their other recent series. It's basically Capcom dialing it back to 2008 shitty practices so they can slowly build back up to modern day shitty practices because they had that scare with their bank account a few years back.

Does anyone seriously expect a corporation to not gradually evolve to be more and more anticustomer at this point in history? That's like their primary drive since around 2005 (at least in the game industry) and has been a lot longer than that for other industries.

Finished REmake 2 hardcore mode in almost 7 hours the first playthrough, someone doing it in 5h on easy mode is not surprising at all.

Still excited. Part of the reason I like the first one so much is that it doesn't feel the need to pad itself out. They could have easily scaled up the map, made the hallways longer and the rooms bigger, put more of the same enemies in them, and added in some unfun mechanics like a driving segment or something, but they didn't. They made the game they wanted to make, and I've played it more than eight times. I'm honestly kinda excited to see they didn't butcher this approach with 3 and hope they remake 1, 0, and CV the same way.
