Basically, nobody cares about gameplay anymore. It's been dethroned by gwaffix, trend bandwagons, cosmetics, crafting, and a bunch of other bullshit that does nothing to improve gameplay at all (and only serves to distract devs from actually making good gameplay).

It's obvious to anyone that's been here for a prolonged amount of time that the negativity and nihilism of this board has reached a critical level over the past year. This board has always been cynical and pessimistic, but we've come to a point were every release is deemed a massive world-ending catastrophe months before it's even close to having an announced release date. Every single thread is petty squabbling based on assumptions, conjecture and knee jerk reactions which mostly aren't even genuine. A game will be announced, Yas Forums will shitpost it into oblivion, it gets released and sells well and then we just move on to the next thing pretending like our faux outrage never existed. Last year I decided to just don't bother discussing games I like or I'm interested on in this place. It was a pretty good decision because arguing with autists is tiresome and at the end of the day it's just wasted time.

I honestly don't like to follow social media or videogame news outlets so Yas Forums is way more practical to me even if the news are one or two days late.
Also, you can find on Yas Forums news and announcements that can't be covered by regular media due to legal reasons or red tape (like fan-translations of non-localized games or cracked versions of delisted games).

powertripping isn't an ongoing issue (except for Yas Forums I've heard it still happens), but on-topic video game threads still get deleted all the time, and if you try and ask for more info through feedback you get shuttered.

I think it's good actually the music is phenomenal and the gameplay is potentially the best in the series. The story may not appeal to some people but I enjoy it personally. But all of this is subjective. I welcome your opinion as to why Final Fantasy X is bad
