I have to say, the maurader is my favorite miniboss. Shotgun dueling him is fun as fuck, being able to stun him mid-swing is just too satisfying, especially once you get good and no longer need to focus him exclusively.
He's also a great filter for shitters. Anyone who bitches about maurader is bad at the game.

I don't like the chainsaw mechanic of getting ammo from Eternal. Nor did I like the same mechanic from Doom 2016. However it didn't entirely RUIN the game or experience to the point of making it unplayable. I got around it and adapted to utilizing the chainsaw when I'm bouncing around the arena. The End. What's so difficult about this?

I would be willing to bet that a super shotgun reload is roughly the exact same amount of time as a glory kill with the "fast glory kills" rune enabled.

you can still move or even change to another gun while thats happening. Chainsaw is 4x longer and takes away control. Its annoying. That animation can last for like 3 seconds and happens frequently. It adds up quickly. Doom 2016 got away with it because you rarely had to use it. It was only fun because it didnt happen all the time

If that's all it takes to get you out of the game entirely, I don't know what to tell you. While I agree the chainsaw should have been a regular weapon and not an ammo mechanic, it didn't ruin the game completely by any means. As for difficulty based filtering judging by the number of complaints I hear and read about the Marauders, I'd say the game can be a bit difficult for those who don't into arena shooters.
The chainsaw literally takes almost the exact same time as an SSG reload.

yeah because the game doesn't throw health pickups at you sprawled across the map, there's even power ups for the assault rifle that incentivizes you to shoot them to death instead of glory killing for an attack boost, but you don't know that because you haven't played it

Why wouldn't you just glory kill them for health? Why not just do it? The game is fun when you don't actively try to defy the rules. You get runes very early on to both increase the speed of glory kills and also boost your movement speed (by double) after performing them. It really makes you play aggressively and that's fun.

I dunno. Maybe people would like to keep doing the shooty-pew-pew and don't like forced QTE's with chainsawing random fodder for ammo pickups? It's not the worst game ever but, when the gameplay is railroaded into one playstyle, when that playstyle doesn't jive with people, they'll just drop it. (that playstyle being shooting every ammo type you have into enemies then chainsawing fodder enemies and near-death enemies just for a few scraps of ammo to keep shooting)
Personally, I like when shooters have a myriad of playstyles available, so replayability is with certain restrictions (like: OK, this time I'll replay the game but I will ONLY use the super shotgun, or this one's gonna be a sniper-only run, or a melee only run). It's also what made Modern Warfare 2 PvP feel pretty refreshing since people were doing knife-melee-sprinting builds, sniper builds, dual Model 1887s, etc. Got bored of one playstyle? Change it up to something else also nutty and keep having fun.
It's unfortunate, but pretty much everyone should've known Doom5 would be just like Doom4 regarding glory kills being the most controversial point of the gameplay.

Whiplashes have about equal health to hell knights, they're easy to stumble with the SSG and rockets, usually they cant take more than 2 ballista bolts.
Mauraders are also not that bad, 4 SSG/Ballista combos will end him quick.
