I busted mine out the other day and it's hilarious how bad the screen is. I can't believe we actually enjoyed that shit. It's literal garbage now.

I can't stress how good the d pad is on the SP. I don't think any other nintendo console has one as good as this. Shit, I want to get an AGS-101 so bad but fuck the ebay prices.

I know, I live in fear every time I turn mine on. However, I added an extra fan to the front, a SSD swap to replace the hot/loud HDD and I clean it pretty regularly so I feel good about it's chances for now.

Apparently, you can reball the board with good solder and correct most of the problems.

The advantage of the Gameboy Advance over the SP was the replaceable batteries, so if you had a long road trip or plane ride you could bring extra batteries and play for hours.

Aside from the left dpad which can be annoying after a while, it really is a kino device.

truly a great time to be a kid. i still have 2 ds lites and a ps2 slim in a shoebox.
the 3ds was only good for the zelda remakes and i ended up giving mine to a friend after his R shoulder button broke. the nu pokemon games are trash and that's about all i wanted out of it.
i'd buy a switch if the fucking thing could play all of nintendo's backlog, console and handheld. indie games would be a nice draw if i didn't play those on pc. if i'm out in public like on the train, i'll read a book and/or listen to music.
