Mikan feels like she was supposed to have a character arc but then they just decided to get rid of her by having her be the one to catch the murderer disease. Then she gets the worst death in the entire franchise.

V3 had THE most surface level characters and that's saying something considering the series we're talking about.
I suppose it's kinda the point because xD fiction. It had the characters with the best potential, but they don't use it at all.

I think v3 had the least amount of characters I liked, and even then most of those ones felt poorly handled.

The first game had the worst characters. Byakuya is the only one who's even remotely redeemable.

Bullshit. Even throw away characters like Ryoma or Korekiyo were interesting unlike most characters of DR1 while DR2 had only likable Fat Togami, Gundham and Fuyuhiko and obvious waifu bait Chiaki.

Kokichi was more likable antagonist than Nagito and Kaito was pretty much the male support of the MC instead of Kirigiri and Nanami

Bruh, only Sakura and Kirigiri were OK. Togami was the worst retard in the first game and only got likable in Ultra Despair Girls. I unironically hoped that only Weedman survives.

She'd expect you to be the breadwinner, and have food on the table and the kids taken care of when you got home. She'd have a small photography business on the side for extra cash. Her personality can be boiled down to "perfect wife."

Every character was just a boring anime archetype without any of the personality that made the later two game's characters fun. They tried to make them a little more grounded in reality, and got cardboard cutouts as a result.
Kyoko is literally the worst character in the entire series and ruins the entire narrative with her mere existence, and the best thing Sakura did is kill herself so we didn't have to look at her anymore. Byakuya was at least funny.
Imposter is pretty good, but he's just Byakuya with fat instead of humor.
