As we battle our way through the winter, by travelling, we may grow stronger and lose our size. There are major differences between old-school games that get nostalgic value and new-style games that are about showing off the latest technology, I think.Anyway, if you take it from the top and set aside personal satisfaction, but for the lack of comparing to other games, I think Yuji Naka and the company were brilliant at making a game, which I could not imagine before.I think he thought and concluded what he wanted to do from the beginning, and we followed up with that.
I'm done with this hobby, Games aren't fun anymore
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Damn, son, get yo' club feet off of the fucking board.
Indent, son.
Plus, it's the fucking spring tomorrow. So don't go battlin' the winter when its already about to be over in 24 hours.
What's your point that you're trying to make? Jive ass dude got no brains anyhow.
games are fucking boring to me now
deadrising is shit. everything is shit. games are a waaste of time . i'm fucking done with this hobby. i'm going back to drawing and writing fuck this hobby
i thought you guys like feet
it's not winter faggot
>redditspacing
games are becoming boring to me now, this will probably be my last time on any game related site on the web. o'm done with this hobby/ i'm throwing all of my hardware on the lake . i'm going to get a better hobby like fishing
I do.
Modern AAA has no soul. It's too pop culture focused, too much focus-group centered, too many hollywood rejects that want to make marvel movies get lead positions. Just like the movie industry had a golden age which died roughly at the turn of the century, the same fate has occurred to the video game industry. If you want to watch a good film these day you have to turn to French, Korean and Japanese cinema to get anything of value. Same with games, even Japan has been tainted by the westernization decline. All my GOTY's the past couple of years are by indie devs,
Jesus look at those pontoons
films everywhere are shit even Jap animation is shit now. games used to be simple and fun and i tend to pint point the original xbox as the sole reason games went to shit. i fucking despise m$, i hope they burn in hell for destroying every industry they get their dirty hands on
they remind me of my cousins feet
>There are major differences between old-school games that get nostalgic value and new-style games that are about showing off the latest technology
lmao, sonic was made as a direct competitor to mario to show off the speed of the genesis over the NES. In the US, they even marketed this as 'blast processing.'
Then PS1 and N64 fought to have dominion over 3D graphics, and while xbox was a late contender a generation later, it won over a lot of people because of online services and graphical fidelity. many of its games, while great classic games in their own right, were made to be huge tech demos - halo comes to mind.
Games have by in large always been about showing off tech from the publisher's point of view. You were younger and taken in by the spectacle, and you didn't question their motives. I hear all this stupid doomerposting about how games aren't fun anymore, but it's more that it always sounds like you're depressed and want games to be a magic escape portal untainted or uninvolved in human affairs, much less the devs that made them. At the same time, you still want masterpieces like the old FF and zelda games that resonated with you emotionally as a kid. It can't be both - either move on from vidya or be an adult like the rest of us and deal with the realities of muh hobby isn't as pure as i thought it was
Animation? What are you 12? I'm talking about film here. FILM. ART you fucking dweeb. And OG xbox and 360 had plenty of soulful games. Phantom Dust, Panzer Dragoon, Breakdown, Lost Odyssey. Advent Rising, Ninja Gaiden, Jet Set Radio Future to name a few.
>obligatory nigger
>Modern AAA has no soul. It's too pop culture focused
AAA is a problem these days for sure, especially with swelling team sizes and budgets, but muh pop culture focus has literally always been there. Look no further to goldeneye, smash, crash bandicoot, kingdom hearts and disney, etc..
> Just like the movie industry had a golden age which died roughly at the turn of the century
but after the golden age of film, we got back more experimental forms in film rather than appealing to the golden age. People like you complain about the death of french new wave, but french new wave was made as a response to tired cliches - and if it kept going forward as a popular style, then in the spirit of french new wave, we'd want to explore a new style of flimmaking
>If you want to watch a good film these day you have to turn to French, Korean and Japanese cinema to get anything of value
I love foreign film, but there's more to international film than these three countries. And even then, this is spoken like somebody who doesn't know the presence of film talent from within the US or their own country elsewhere
>same with games, even Japan has been tainted by the westernization decline.
as far as pop culture...things like macross were full of pop culture from the start of their identity. Japan has a lot of good and bad in their games. while my favorite games are japanese, that comes at the expense of a lot of schlock
>All my GOTY's the past couple of years are by indie devs
I feel more or less the same, but there have been great games from a myriad of big name devs. Though, I wish the big industry would support games like katana zero more often
>either move on from vidya or be an adult like the rest of us and deal with the realities of muh hobby isn't as pure as i thought it was
you're right, i think it's time for me to move one. games haven't made me happy in a long time and it seems like they'll continue to be shit past my grave.
>Animation? What are you 12? I'm talking about film here. FILM. ART you fucking dweeb
everything is shit now you coon. the only decent stuff to enjoy now is dark web sites that cater to the lowest common denominator.
>XbAx Guud
LOL no
stop eating ice cream, i hear it turns men gay
cool blog broski
Your opinion on soul bare no weight since you clearly lack one. You come across as a really nasty person, like a possum or something equally nasty and I don't care for you at all.
>animation isn't film\
most of your favorite filmmakers are satoshi kon and hirokuki okiura fans. If you're selling the quality of
> Panzer Dragoon, Breakdown, Lost Odyssey
, which a lot of people thought were middle of the line, and decrying animation as not "film art" then you've got a weird list of priorities.
>games used to be simple and fun
aka, the "i grew up and not things aren't as simple, so it's shit" baby rant. Dude, we get it, you're jaded as an adult. There are still simple games out there, and there were always complicated games in the past.
>xbox was the reason games went to shit
the original xbox had ninja gaiden and halo, two of the most lauded games of the generation.
>goldeneye
>popculture outside of gaming
>big feet
smoll feet are the best feet
you two cleanly lack a brain
>it seems like they'll continue to be shit past my grave
i mean, have you considered that you're the one that's shit? Almost everytime you ask people to explain why they don't like , they'll respond in memes or like they've clearly not played it
I always found small feet on women ugly.
Epic
is this cp?
no, it's my mothers toes
You might be gay
It became a household name for children because of the game. Goldeneye is a mediocre brosnan bond film, yes, but the point is that
>branded titles
>pop culture references
>ubiquity of sales figures as metrics
and so on were in games long ago. It's why people still talk about goldeneye, the game, and not perfect dark or even timesplitters as much, despite the latter being much better refinements of goldeneye. This is not to mention shit like THQ licensed tie in games
I didn't say animation isn't art. It is art, but a lesser one. A film has hundreds of moving parts, like the skeleton of a intricate watch, each movement fine tuned precisely down to the atoms to serve and convey a singular vision, all coming together in concert seamlessly as the passion of man merges with the convenience of the machine. I am at awe even when I watch an amateur film because it's akin to discovering a uncut jewel, you marvel at it's brilliance hiding underneath the rough edges. A amateurish animation offers little to nothing.
then take it away, I do not wish to see it
No, I'd say you're the one who doesn't have a brain. Everyone here sees you're doomerposting and pulling jaded curtains to all media. That and you don't have any good arguments against animation.
killed that, too.
who sad they were for your eyes?
Why would I care about womens feet if I were gay?
feet
modern entertainment is just shit and the internet is literally all i use now to browse creepy sites and porn. shitposting has also gotten boring me.
>killed that, too.
what do you have against my mother and cousin?
>>branded titles
>>pop culture references
>>ubiquity of sales figures as metrics
>>It's why people still talk about goldeneye
I'm pretty sure people talk about goldeneye still because it was the first popular fps on an analog stick
How does this not comply with any animation? How does none of this apply to, again, Satoshi Kon works, where he explored much faster and tighter cuts than his contemporaries because manual control over animation frames meant he could compress information meaningfully over a few frames? What about his use of color? What about the use of dialogue and the framing of his characters to explore dreamlike ideas and ennui?
>I am at awe even when I watch an amateur film because it's akin to discovering a uncut jewel, you marvel at it's brilliance hiding underneath the rough edges.
I am too, when I see good student films at festivals, but many such films are lost in their vision and technique. You'll have people pause for significance or try too hard to isolate their more technical shots rather than weaving their style into the film and storytelling techniques.
>A amateurish animation offers little to nothing.
Even the short film 'ohayo' offers an experience you're talking about. This idea that it is 'lesser' has little basis, especially since animation is generally more expressive on the visuals, more abstract, and has explored more ungrounded topics than traditional film.
Your statements about animation are fairly misinformed and baseless. Any film director would cringe
It's simple, animation mimics reality, film captures it. A copy can never achieve that of the original.
again, a doomer who is jadedposting with sweeping generalizations. 'muh everything is shit' is less about games now and more about you.
people talk about it because it was the first popular fps among children in the 90s. But the point is that the game is entrenched in branding and tie ins. Imagine the same, where some genre gets hugely popular because of a marvel movie tie in. I'd like to see the state of Yas Forums then.
Another wanderer, here to lick my father's feet. Good job.
>the point is that the game is entrenched in branding
But it's not why people remember it, your point is moot.
film doesn't capture reality though. film is a facsimile of a narrative that captures contrived experience and sets it to edited dialogue and music. Animation does not hide the fact that it is close to drawn and painted art, which captures the abstract truth expressed on paper and canvas rather than trying to simply scribe down a likeness of a scene.
animation doesn't even have any pretense of trying to mimic anything.
i fantasize about cumming inside my mothers womb
Even more proof that footfags are the lowest for of subhumans.
90's as fuck. Takes me back.
hey buddy, watch those words pal those are my mothers toes your speaking of
A real man of culture appreciates all types of feet. Of course, except chubby or fat.
chubby and fat is the same thing there buddy
Even more proof.
>doesn't even have any pretense of trying to mimic anything.
That's where you're cross. If it didn't try to mimic the human experience it would be nothing but meaningless and abstract shapes with no rhyme or reason. Animation is in fact desperately trying to express life with tooth and nail and it does so by cheating. It cheats by unconventional means such as condensing emotions and magnifying others, it's a cheat because it's a game of trickery where the art is deception though association, a simulacrum. I conceit that film is in fact a facsimile, but the line is as subtle as the line between where reality ends and the reflection of a mirror starring back at you begins and as such has earned its prestige and social status as a higher art form.
>he doesn't lick his mothers toes on a daily basis
what a subhuman
A skinny woman can have chubby feet
Maybe if she's unhealthy as fuck
Exactly.
