They both look great, best PE design to date. 64 was very cool and unique (like the rest of that game) but Eternal PE is just fucking bitchin'. New Caco has the cool creature design of 2016 but salvages some of the character from that glorious original Sprite. Mechanically? I don't entirely know how to feel, just like a lot of mechanics and design choices in Eternal, Caco is a case of two extremes, instantly removing him from the battlefield is piss easy now, but he's WAY more aggressive, lots more projectiles and a MEAN ASS bite lunge, I think it balances out. Pain elemental hits decent and soaks up lots of damage, basic, but he fills that slot well. And honestly FUCK old school PEs, totally fucked up the balancing of the game

I think it's interesting that both options for quickly getting rid of the caco (grenade + GK or charged ballista) require a near-identical amount of time commitment and focus. It's relatively easy, but it can also be difficult to find a good time to do it with other demons on your ass.
So sometimes you decide not to bother with the caco and maybe suffer for it later. But it's an actual decision to kill the caco instead of dealing with other demons that are more dangerous, but less obstructive. I really like it.
