Amazing, because everything you've said is the opposite to what happened. I never played a bethesda or bioware game, I finished VtMB and its simplicity was one of my complaints.

Don't, it's a highly overrated game with almost no redeeming values. It has exactly 3 good locations that take up to 20 minutes of total playtime (and it's a quite long game) and, of course, the tits - the sole reason people like this game.
It has very nice music which completely doesn't fit the setting.
Shooting is the antithesis of fun because even the strongest gun is a pea shooter.
Melee on the other hand is extremely powerful and yet it doesn't feel satisfying at all.
Each quest starts with a premise which then falls flat like a dead fish. For example, there is a sect that you make enemies with and they promise to hunt you down and kill you. They will never try. There is a guy who saved your life and is the leader of a somewhat influential group but then you accuse him of some shit and force him into hiding. His buddies still talk to you as if nothing happens. You will eventually have to choose an allegiance. It doesn't matter because you will be able to work for everyone anyway. You might use magic to damage someone's psyche. It doesn't matter, they will be fine. There is a murderer that you look for for almost entire game who murders his victims very gruesomely. He's a little bitch and dies in 3 hits. You get sent on a suicide mission and it's piss easy. You meet an enemy who is like a godlike leader of a big bad sect and is powerful as fuck. Swing at him a few times and he's dead.

You get what I mean? You will get blue balls with every quest. Not once did an interesting premise (and the game is chock full of them) develop into an interesting story in an entire game. Not once. It' like if someone was telling you a story, starting slowly but then getting more and more excited, gesticulating a lot and visibly comming to a grand conclusion where shit hits the fan but then, when he's standing on the bed with his arms up in the air speaking in deep voice about a hero who stands in front of dragon's cave and is about to enter and then suddenly calms the fuck down entirely and leaves the room as if nothing happens and goes to do the laundry. That's VtMB. Nothing ever happens in that game. You will expect something to happen the entire time, but at some point you will finish the game and ask yourself "is that it? W-what".
VtMB is the worst game I have ever played. No competition.

Well in such a case this would be a relief but in a video game you want tension to be followed by a confrontation and a climax and not the atmosphere just kinda cooling down and nothing happening at all.
It's like if there was a horror movie where there is a bunch of teens out camping and they hear in radio that a psycho murderer escaped a nearby asylum and one of the teens asks if anyone had seen his axe. What you want to happen is for tension to be rising slowly and teens getting scared, someone dying at some point, later in the movie the murderer being shown as he chops someone into pieces. What you don't want to happen is for the guy to find his fucking axe behind the tent and the radio host to say "nvm the police found and shot the killler", which is what would happen in VtMB if there was a story about teens camping and a psycho murderer in it.

The last two posts you quoted weren't mine but I kinda see some merit in them. The goth hg is right about people liking the game way too much for superficial reasons, that's for sure. As for fapping to dickgirls, I cannot really relate but I get the point that VtMB is a really generic game with a nice coating, that is true, although there are games which have the most generic setting and story possible but they're exciting to play, meanwhile VtMB has an amazing setting and is an absolute fucking bore.

Its old, buggy and very ok. This is the perfect for the hipsters that browse this board. Game is 7/10 at best and many other games do both the story and gameplay better. If you like vampire stuff though, this is your only option.

It is also a breath of fresh air if you play a lot of crpgs, and most of your entries are from Bioware and/or Obsidian.
I think New Vegas and Deus Ex are the only other "fresh air" entries.
