My lad, what I'm about to tell you is going to change your life forever. ALL games from GOG are digitally signed with GOG's keys, and your windows can check the signature automatically. If the file was modified by a third party, the signature will be invalid and windows will alert you. On the other hand if the signature is valid, you can be 100% sure the file is pristine, as it came from GOG. I'm sure you can even double-check it manually if you don't trust windows to do that for you (like it probably stores cached certificates locally, and those can be tampered with). This essentially means that you can get your GOG installer from ANYWHERE on the net, you can get it from the shadiest Russian site, you can get it from Satan's asshole itself, and if the signature checks out, you're ABSOLUTELY safe.
