To be fair they've been contracted by Aniplex for this, so it's not like Bamco is prioritizing Kimetsu over .hack, this is a completely different project that isn't interfering with a potential .hack game.
Bamco definitely did prioritize DBZ Kakarot over .hack though, there is no arguing that.

I don't follow the manga, but aren't they already at the final battle? If that's true, then Ufotable's anime suddenly injecting this with popularity will result in some hilariously desperate milking of the franchise before it loses all relevance, doubly hilarious because it is nowhere near as long and has nowhere near as much content to adapt as something like Naruto or One Piece.

Came here to ask this. I have no doubt this is gonna be another generic bullshit arena fighter that's killing what could be good anime games. Kakarot wasn't great but at least it tried something different. I never watched Fairy Tale (Tail?) and I'm probably going to buy the game because I need a new RPG to play and it's not a cookie cutter fighter.

They shouldn't remaster the original 4 games. I remember them extremely fondly as well but they have not aged well in the slightest. The gameplay was pretty much a menu simulator and in the modern market that won't sell. A game not selling will guarantee the death of the series. The best part about it was the story. If nothing else I'd like a new game (taking place in either V1 or V2) that explains in detail what happened with the original .hackers as an optional dialogue, in-menu OVA or downloadable code instead of an additional DVD.

They were so bad that they lost development of FF7. not even up to SQE standards. Yikes.

Funny thing is, alot of people were hype for a JoJo game that the game sold 800K but got a huge backlash for how bad it was, the "sequel" sold less than 80% of the first CC2 JoJo game did. CC2 straight up killed any chances of getting more proper JoJo games.
