Dreams can be argued that it is profiting from the IP as you have people showing what they made and how close it works to the original. IIRC there was also a topic on being able to profit from your own creations on Dreams so Nintendo may be squashing that before it becomes an issue.

Game pricing is determined by how well a game is selling. If Sony could sell at the same numbers Nintendo is selling at 3 years after a game's release, they would also keep the price at $60. But they can't even maintain those numbers for more than a month or two, which is why they're forced to cut their game prices in half only a few months after a game is released.

Physical sales charts mean jack shit for a game that 90% of people have bought digitally due to massive understocking.
