It hurts bros, what are some good games I can play with this shit igpu? I'm considering going back to Oldschool Runescape
GPU died just one day before quarantine was issued

Diablo 2? I never played it but my friend said it's fun and runs on his toaster.
a GPU is not a difficult part to install what steps did you take in installing it?
I'm a techlet and managed to install a gpu.
You didn't even try, retard.
Eith the GPU you open the back and you play it in.
It's literally lego nigger just plug it in
youtube.com
you watch this video
>take 15 minutes to open the pc case because I'm retarded
>see old GPU
>there's 6 power cables going in and another 3
>try to pull them off
>can't
>apply reasonable strength, it's still not coming off
>get frustrated, close the case and post this thread
Go ahead and laugh at me but at least tell me what was I supposed to do. The instruction videos make it as easy as pulling it out and inserting the new one, as if the old one wasn't attached through bolts and unknown nature forces
Also my house is not grounded because I live in a shit country. Haven't got those wristbands either and can't buy any because shops are quarantined. Took some precautions like touching a metal pipe before trying this, but I doubt that makes it 100% safe. Anyway I already touched the new GPU so if there was damage to be done it already happened I guess.
If you’re too dense to install a gpu, you shouldn’t use a pc
there should be a tab on the power cables that you have to press down as you pull it its right on the plug just pres it down and then give a light pull not a tug a pull
Also this will sound pathetic but I haven't found where in my new GPU the power cables are plugged in, it just does not have the 6 pin shape the old one has
DIDNT EVEN TRY HARD ENOUGH
Fuck, I didn't consider how fucked I am if my computer goes to shit. My condolences, OP.
what model did you buy?
GTX 1050ti Gigabyte. This is one side
The other
its inside he red circle
Fine you fuckers inspired me to give another shot at installing the GPU, be right back
If I am not back in 30 minutes not only I failed installing it but my computer also died
Oh turns out mine is different, let me take a picture, its very weird
I HAVE FINE FAITH WITHIN YOU.
This is a great opportunity to learn new shit, OP. Remember that google exists.
maybe you forgot to plug in the 8 pin connector?
>>bought a new GPU but can't install it (and I tried), no tech assistance shops open to install it for me
lmao are you retarded? It slots in like lego and you connect one wire
not all 1050 tis even have a power cable plug, its a low power card. mine for example runs entirely on pcie power.
Put it in the microwave, it boosts it's performance and makes it easier for it to be attached once you get the wires out.
i dont think it needs the connector at all so install will be even easier let me post a pciter of the power cable wit the tab you need to press highlighted
have you considered remove the rubber sleeve?
Oh, that's probably what is going on with mine. Thanks user.
Can I leave the power plugs hanging out in the computer? Probably not, right? Fuck it'll be extra work to get rid of them
just tie them up somewhere out of the way.
you can just make sure they are tucked away so a fan doesnt catch them here is where you need to press to loosen the old power cables
Push the tabs on the power cables to pull it out. Unscrew the left side screws that are holding it to the case. There is also a tab on the motherboard that holds it in place you have to push when pulling it out
>I was retarded and bought a piece of hardware that was somehow incompatible with my mobo/PSU/form factor/PCI slots.
lol you deserve your pc bottleneck, next time run your shit through a comparability website or something, or actually read the specs on the parts you are buying.
Mockery aside though, you can probably play almost anything made before 2012 with the onboard gfx if its a recent mobo, and you can emulate probably everything prior to PS3/360/Wii.
So you have quite a few options, probably like 80% of all the games ever made for pc or console.
did you even read the thread?
REEE POWER CABLES STILL WON'T COME OUT EVEN WITH PRESSURE ON THE TUG
Fucking christ dude, just watch a couple of videos on how to install a graphics card. How do you think most of us learned? It's much harder to explain in text here then it is to just see it through a quick video tutorial.
>can't install gpu
this has to be bait. GPUs are literally plug and play
apply more pressure to the tug, then wiggle wiggle the plug
you see the tabs there right? press them down hold them down and pull it might take a bit of force but if the card is busted anyway it doesnt matter if it gets damaged
>Did you read the thread about how he doesn't know what power cable clips are?
Admittedly not, but I at least suggested what he would be able to play in the case that he cannot figure out how to remove cables from slots.
So I am calling it a draw.
Go to the gym damn dude.
>You share a board with such colossal brainlets
Look carefully, on the cable side of the interface you should see a levered tab with a little hook on it that engages with a little shelf on the card side of the interface. Are you sure that you're pressing that levered tab to make the hook disengage?
Bros I am almost done, already inserted my new gpu but it's hanging loose on the pcie metal thing, is it supposed to be like that? No matter how much I push it down it doesn't make a "click" sound
My greatest fear right now is that my computer breaks while this shitstorm is still going, i hope nothing happens
Thanks, I did it!
But last question, how do I plug DVA or HDMI in the GPU? All slots are blocked
This is adorable. Remove the tabs on them
Fucking hell user
there is tabs in the slots just pull those off and you should be gravy
Jesus man...
Just look up a youtube video. It'll walk you through so simply that your grandmother could do it.
>ITT OP is learning to become a big boy on PC building
I feel you bro.
My monitors turn off if I try to play any game.
I've tried looking for solutions online but none of the ones I've tried have worked. So far the most likely problem is broken graphic card or power suply. But I have no idea how to find out for sure so I can't just replace it.
I just want to play comfy games!
OP if you are still here be sure to install your GPU drivers as well
>My monitors turn off if I try to play any game.
Sounds like your graphics card can't handle being overwhelmed.
Have you got multiple of the SAME port (e.g. 2 VGA ports) on your machine? If so, one will be to your graphics card, the other to an inbuilt card on your motherboard- try the other one.
FUCK I CHANGED BIOS TO USE MU GRAPHIC CARD
THERES NO OUTPUT COMING FROM THE HDMI TO MY PC
WHY AND HOW DO I CHANGE IT BACK
reset your bios
plug back into your motherboard go into the bios swap it back and then plug back into the GPU
Assuming that works, why am I not getting hdmi signal? It hurts
simple as
Why would it suddenly just be overwhelmed by games though?
And it is any games. Even VN's, which are about as overwhelming as using notepad.
>Have you got multiple of the SAME port
Yes. At least I think they are the same. And I use both for different monitors.
How can I go in the bios/motherboard if it wont send output through mu motherboard vga cable, only through thr faulty hdmi cable?
because the motherboard is sending it to the onboard still
No because I have the onboard vga cable plugged and still no output, what do I do to get the vga output back if I don't have output to go through the bios menu?
So this is Yas Forums now
People responding to easy bait? It's always been this way.
>bait
