xiv and wow pvp are both complete fucking dogshit for different reasons i only played eso for a little bit but it felt like a buggy mess because of how animations and stuns work (regardless of actually being buggy)
Jeremiah Cruz
I would recommend ESO or WoW Classic for PvP People will say WoW PvP is too unbalanced but they're retards who don't like fun
Nathan Flores
1. Age of Conan 2. Ultima Online 3. Darkfall 4. Guild Wars 1/2 5. Archeage (for mass pvp and sieges) 6. Neocron 2 (FPS combat)
Jace James
wow pvp in both retail in classic is either >dying instantly or >literally never dying and NOTHING else
Warhammer RoR nowadays Maybe even DAoC still, though last time I played it was pretty dead
Nathaniel Butler
GW2
Asher Martin
WoW PvP > anything else on the market right now. That's not saying wow PvP is good tho
Easton Hall
all of the mmos with good pvp are dead and buried, modern mmos have a "no child left behind" approach to pvp design which drags down the whole experience
Blake Moore
ESO is honestly the best of MMO PvP right now
Dominic Torres
Archeage, Blade and Soul, Black Desert and GW2 are well alive
Jace Phillips
GW2 just had the balls ripped off of its pvp a couple weeks ago, and korean MMOs that aren't RO are a waste of harddrive space
Liam Ross
i see you never played Archeage, otherwise you`d know its the best sandbox and pvp MMO in two decades. BnS and BD are like you say though, but least have nice combat systems.
Gabriel Howard
ESO PvP keeps dragging me back to it. There's just something about it that nothing else currently lives up to. GW2 was ok at launch until they fucked the hell out of it and it just became zerging through empty bases, while mostly avoiding the other zergs.
Caleb Wood
>GW2 PvP was great until we, from Seafarer`s Rest - initially worst and lowest ranked server, PWN the rest of all servers and kept on top for years so everyone gave up and transfered to us.
Josiah Lopez
Unironically just play MOBAs
Robert Morris
Unfortunately you don't have much choice in that market. Current wow pvp may be absolute dogshit, but it's still miles above anything else on the market. The only other you have is to play on two private servers. Either:
Warmane's wotlk server or Panda WoW.
Warmane is pretty decent because of it's population and short pvp waiting times. They even have an instant 80 server with s7 starting gear that shares the same bgs/arenas as the regular server. Only downside is the cash shop and that the waiting times during midday are unbearable, unless you pay a couple of bugs for premium. Panda wow is some russian pvp server that runs MoP. Server is decently populated (mostly by russians) and you barely have any waiting times for pvp. You could also do some raids since people aren't exclusively playing pvp. MoP pvp was also peak pvp in any mmo imo, so there that.
As you see times are pretty dire for us pvp fags.
Nathan James
>Unfortunately you don't have much choice in that market. Current wow pvp may be absolute dogshit, but it's still miles above anything else on the market. WoW fags never change.
You never ever played a real pvp game to know whats pvp is like.
William Cox
GW2 is/was pretty good
John Wilson
oh forgot the main attraction - Albion Online is now ftp and its all pvp, with full loot and stuff
Nolan Brown
How is he wrong. I played DAoC and nu-WoW's battleground style is serviceable at best. Head and shoulders above any other ""current"" game, as sad as that is.
Dark Age/Warhammer are not current and Broadsword has the former in hard maintenance mode. Good luck getting any PvP (let alone RvR/siege engagements) on off-peak (American time). The community there is European while Warcraft's is multinational, active at any time of day. It's fine. Good even. Not terrible.
Chase Perez
haven't played mmos in a long time but Lineage 2 was goat
Nathaniel Sanders
What "curren" pvp games did you play, WoW fag?
None, are they too challenging since require actuall skill in pvp rather than clicking abilities on cooldown?
Justin Ward
Kek the thread is for MMORPGs, not your MOBA/BR forced 50 shittery.
Jayden Brown
Depends what kind of pvp.
For ranked pvp wow is normally the best. Age of Conan is amazing for griefing people out in the world.
Eso is great for large scale battles.
Brandon Bennett
What do people see in FF14? It has worse pvp, worse raiding, worse character customization(all jobs play the same and all gear stats are the same), worse mount collecting, worse pet collecting, and last it has the worst net code making all combat in pvp and pve feel horrible and grid like. I have no idea why they never update the net code.
It has the best house building than any mmo. Is that why people play it? And the best ERP community?
Zachary Gutierrez
Proves my point. You does not even know that outside WoW reservoir for casuals, tab targeted MMOs died like class.
Parker Hall
>It has the best house building than any mmo. Is that why people play it? And the best ERP community? Pretty much. Though EQ2 housing was based.
The only people that still play XIV have so deep a sunk cost that they can't see any other game. They're entrenched in whatever community and the friends they made are in a similar boat, so they remain banded on a ship that's barely able to stay afloat while it drip feeds them a minimal amount of content that's consumed and made tired on patch day.
James Gray
>It has the best house building than any mmo. Archeage exists.
As for FF14, its the only proper weaboo mmo. There are a lots of weaboos.
David Turner
I love how with any question of 'what mmo has the best x?' the answer is always 'well xyz, but that doesn't mean it's actually fun'. Why is the bar for mmos set so low?
Cameron Hughes
most weebs are playing PSO2 or gachashit, FF is 95% western themes
Isaac Myers
>worse character customization
That's called World of Warcraft you dipshit
Owen Jackson
nice projection, wowfag
Caleb Perry
There's no way for competition to exist in the genre with how prohibitive the games cost. They have to be living, breathing worlds that exist long beyond what a normal game's expiration date would be (usually making a sequel after some DLC). Other games can easily and focus on the elements that make them great (PvE/solo or PvP/competitive) since it's not a huge investment to make a world that won't evolve or be updated (beyond DLC). MMOs have to provide on all fronts, for every type of player, so some things fall by the wayside. Where's your argument? That's not a projection, merely a fact since I play both.
Jack Watson
easily compete^ There's just too few games in the running to really have any choice on where you play or what the quality will be. Best to not play them at all.
Adam Hughes
Why arent there any Darkfall private servers? Seems to be the company is why nobody plays it
Julian Evans
WoW has basically ruined the genre. Why try to create a living, breathing world with an economy, politics and wars, when you can just make a rollercoaster always-online singleplayer questline? Every retard that enjoys WoW needs to basically off themselves.
We're recovering extremely slowly. Minecraft has been somewhat of a kick in the butt, because developers that want to include actual customization can argue that their game is "just like Minecraft" to the bigwigs.
Christopher Moore
there are whole TWO Darkfall fan made relaunches, one of which is F2P currently - Rise of Agon
Cameron Bailey
1) Final Fantasy 2) MSQ and main story-line 3) Final Fantasy Majority of people who like FF14 mainly like single-player games and Final Fantasy
Dylan Robinson
fortnite unironically has larger groups than any modern MMO. You'll never see even 100 people on ff14 or wow in one spot. Sure as shit not in a pvp setting.
Nolan Foster
I have thousands of hours in ESO and I can confirm the PvP is shit. You get zerg balls of autistic clan members running in sync and using meta builds so you can't kill them because they are on discord voice calls circle jerking eachother. You can have twice the number of people fighting them and you wont kill them because they run around in circles and then all spam an AoE attack at once on you and kill your team that outnumbers them.
ESO is your only real choice for competent MMO PvP right now but then you have to deal with playing ESO.
Cooper Gutierrez
Eve online, because it's likely only one today where pvp will happen to you regardless if you want it or not. It's rotting and slowly dying now though, and reason for that is developers making it more safe than it used to be.
Brody Hall
Play wow up to the f2p lvl cap, and just do PvP on that. It's the best PvP available
Nathan Hall
Wildstar had the best housing because you could actually leave the game for a few months and don't have your shit demolished.
Carter Smith
>rotting and slowly dying it's been dead since f2p. Before that honestly, but especially now. I'd argue more people than not are multiboxing, there's no reason to ever touch eve in 2020. I mean the game fuckin shut down so ye ain't right there.
Justin Rivera
eh, Albion Online and BDO have world pvp too the former is EVE Online in a fantasy world in a rough sense, just with less than mobile-tier graphics
Elijah Allen
Meaning different guilds or armor stats. He's not talking about MOG retard. In other mmos you can customize your character to have different builds. FF14 is barebones with this. Wow is pretty good in this regard.
ESO has the best however.
Joseph Cox
user... Wildstar is dead. Literally. No servers.
Parker Nelson
>wow is good in this regard >all you do is run your character through a simulator to find out if the gear piece is an upgrade or not
lmao no
Christopher Flores
No mmo-PvP will come even close to what Guild Wars had in its prime.
Lol you just described wowfag ffxiv dont have to literaly recycle their game for "classic" experience
Gabriel Murphy
GW2 got massive pvp changes. Dunno whether they are good or not but you might want to check it out. You can play pvp right from the beginning
Jeremiah Garcia
ESO combat is utter garbage
Angel Butler
>Playing anything but structured PvP in GW2
Why would you do that? The game really shines in structured PvP and WvWvW has been Zerg City from day one.
Julian Anderson
Gonna come at you from a very niche and weird angle you might not have considered and might not be remotely what you want: MUDs
Some muds have rediculously complex and involved PvP. I'm talking meaning the best people need go script up healing/curing systems so they can survive (though in the few I've played there's usually been free versions)
I've had my best PvP experiences playing muds by absolute far. I can't describe how it feels to body an entire city of people (of like 50 people logged in at the time) with a crack raid team then ruining a concerted assault because someone perfectly timed synchronised drops of explosive magical nukes while another guy timed illusions that tricked people into thinking it was an illusion.
Insane stuff. The downsides are its fucking muds. You can either live with that or not and that's that.
Jack Evans
all MMORPGs have shit pvp it is the genre's most defining trait.
Austin Kelly
If you take content singularly I could see why it would be baffling. There are many issues that will probably never be adressed. The appeal of FFXIV is that is a complete and polished package, it's casual friendly and lets you enjoy multiple playstyles without creating alts. That's literally it.
Adam Cooper
the game that only I and 10,000 brazillians played
