Good psp recs pls

Hey Yas Forums, I recently found my old psp and realized it's still in good condition. Unfortunately I sold all my old psp games and could use some new ones. I currently know that I'm going to buy thrillville, socom, assassins creed, and lego batman. I could use some more, tell me your favorites.
Anime games are also a plus

literally all psp games are shit

Mercury meltdown and manhunt 2 are a blast

Dead Head Fred is the shit.
A bit wanky at the beggining, but after 2 hours mark its just beautifull

Let me remember, I had:
Thrillville of the rails (Best PSP game i've played)
Killzone liberation
GTA:Vice City
Battlefront 2
Wipeout Pure
Chili Con Carnage (Good one)

Mega Man Powered Up
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X
Persona 3 Portable

Tony Hawks Underground 2

You know 90% of PSP games can run on the emulator even on toaster PCs, right?

All PSPs can be cracked, don't buy the games just pirate what you want.

Just hack the damn thing. It takes like ten minutes.

>buy
just crack it and download anything you want from a rom site

Disgaea AoD

Thanks for a cracking idea guys, saves alot of my money, but now I need some good recommendations

ever heard of soft modding a psp? try that

Gokumakaimura Kai

Patapon

Loco Roco 1.

Patapon 2, No Heroes Allowed, Locoroco

Both God of War games (Ghost of Sparta in particular is one of the best in the series IMO)
Rachet and Clank: Size Matters
Daxter
Mega Man Powered Up
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles
Resistance: Retribution
Loco Roco

Psp is god tier. Definitely use your money to buy a SD memory stick adapter and a decent sized micro sd card if you don't have them already.

Check vsrecommendedgames for recommendations. If you want a personal rec then I say Gitaroo Man Lives if you're into rhythm games at all and Outrun Coast2Coast if you like driving.

Ace Combat and WipEout

valkyrie chronicles 2.
Final Fantasy Tactics.
trails in the sky 1 and 2.(this is slow but worth)

Metal gear solid peace walker, this game is so big for the psp they had to release it on the ps3

WTF
(Work Time Fun)

What about that other game portable ops? I've heard It's right before PW

Story wise it's not important at all the gameplay is very limited and bad

I think a couple good racing games for the psp are Ridge Racer 2 and Wipeout Pulse, highly reccomend both games.

Rengoku II: The Stairway to Heaven is a good hidden gem. You're a robot dude who has to climb a tower fighting other robot dudes. There's a ton of customization and a good death system.
Also pick up Armored Core 3 Portable and MHFU if you're not too spoiled by the modern titles to enjoy it.

>buy
>PSP
None of those money even go to support any creators anymore, just hack the fucking thing.
Play Patapon1-3, Katamari Damacy, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Gladiator Begins, Wild Arms XF, Knights in the Nightmare (I dare you motherfucker), Fate Extra, ClaDun 2

>Rengoku II:
Not OP but this sounds interesting to me. Is there a lot of story? I'm looking for something grindy that doesn't try and grab your attention with cutscenes or dialogue every 10 minutes.
ZHP Unlosing Ranger is a great mystery dungeon game but you get the Disgaea thing where it seems like every stage or ounce of progression has a dialogue scene attached and it makes it fucking annoying to play while listening to a video or podcast or just trying to relax and absentmindedly play something.

I'm actually loving Dungeon Maker 2 for that very reason, beyond some short quest text you're basically hacking at the gameplay loop for hours before anything important happens.

OP here, thanks again for telling me to hack the system, will do. Also thanks for recommending some games, I'm sure I'll have fun with that. Go head and recommend some more games or discuss, I think im pretty good rn

The story is very minimal and each floor is loosely inspired by one of the seven deadly sins. It's a really unique game and I recommend it fully. When you die you drop all your equipped gear but not the stuff in your inventory so you have to make a different loadout to get your stuff back.

Thanks, I'll download it and give it a try right now.
Sounds kind of like ZHPs system, where your skills are determined by the gear you equip but if you die you lose everything but still level up/keep stat upgrades etc, but basically have to build a whole new build from what you had in storage or what you pick up fresh. So it being similar to that just with a much more minimal story sounds great.

For what it's worth I tried ZHP and it didn't suck me in as much as Rengoku 2. Hope you enjoy it user, if the thread's still up let me know how you get on.

do doom mods work well on psp/vita?
if it's a vita and not an OG, you can also play some games with support for both sticks like GTA but I haven't touched mine in a while so idk how you could pull it off

>psp
>buy
install custom firmware negro and get the entire library for free

Thought I had a better Yas Forums recommends list but this is all I found in an old folder.
Reminds me too to suggest Tactics Ogre LUCT if you like tactics games. I prefer it to FF Tactics by far.
Throwing Sid Meiers Pirates! out there too but the psp version is inferior to the PC version. But having it portable on the system is nice, since you aren't using emulator.

Sure thing. Throwing it on my system now.

>ISOs
wipeout pulse
Gitaroo man lives
gran turismo
shattered memories
project diva
metal slug anthology
>PS1 EBOOTs
crash bandicoot
silent hill
chaos break
resident evil
ghost in the shell

plus some emulators. n64 emulator is dogshit but you can get sm64 running pretty smoothly on it, otherwise just stick to ~4th gen and below

Played about half an hour. Defeated one of those rooms that spawns a red guy and opens a portal to the terminal room. I think I'm gonna really enjoy this once I can get used to the movement/camera and dodging.
What happens if you die enough to lose all your available weapons on a floor? Enemies don't respawn so you can't really farm again unless I'm missing something. Unless your corpse doesn't disappear and get replaced if you die without collecting it like Dark Souls? Only died once and then I explored another wing on the level so I haven't been able to test that yet.
Otherwise its really promising, seems like my type of timewaster.

Where's the armored core game

FF3 and FF4 are both great the PSP versions are arguably their best versions. FF4 on PSP is gorgeous imo and it saddens me that 5 and 6 didn't get the same treatment.

>Rengoku II
Is there any point in playing the first game before the sequel, or can I just start with the second one?

Crisis Core
Patapon
Monster Hunter
Loco Roco
GTA VCS
GTA LCS
The 3rd birthday
some other shit I forgot about

Daxter
FFIV
FF Crisis Core
Medievil
God of War games
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles (play the old games too)
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

Nigga, just slap the CFW that is literally "press button, receive bacon" on it and pirate.

Phantasy Start Portable 1-2 (could probably skip 1 and just go straight to 2)
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
Final Fantasy Tactics: the War of the Lions (with the slowdown patch, will need CFW)
Metal Slug Collection (if not on a 1000, where it gets slowdown)
Street Fighter 0: Max Upper
Guilty Gear: Accent Core
Blazblue: Contiuum Shift Extend (IIRC, or it's just 1-2 before they dropped PSP ports?)
Metal Gear Solid 5: Peace Walker
Disgaea 1: Afternoon of Darkness
Disgaea 2: Absence of Justice
Disgaea: Infinite
Prinny!: Can I Really Be The Hero?
Prinny! 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, D00D!
Castlevania: Dracula X Collection

I dunno, I never ran out of gear.

I never tried the first one and it's a lot easier to find an iso for the second.

Metal Slug Anthology
The Warriors
Dante's Inferno
MGS Peace Walker
Both GoWs
Warhammer 40k: Squad Command
The 3rd Birthday

PSX games

Outrun 2006 (best game on the console. Overclock so you don't get slow down between stages)
Echochrome (very comfy puzzle game)
Half Minute Hero
Persona 3 Portable (the only good entry in the series)

>Overclock so you don't get slow down between stages
Do you know how I can tell you're using a compressed ROM?

Silent Hill Shattered Memories it's amazing how they even got the game to run on a portable of that era

>P3P
isnt that like a visual novel or something?

if only the game itself were amazing.
I loved the slow paced, exploration focused side of the game but those horrendous chase sections fucking ruined it for me.
I could imagine it working as a survival game, get rid of the monsters and just make it about trying not to freeze to death while finding mementos and shit. would be great

It's half VN half JRPG.
Both sides are watered down and shitty.

whats the best version of P3 then?

Most people would say FES. The formula is still the same though, the biggest difference is that P3P has a 2D environment outside of dungeons and P3FES has a 3D one.

is p3p good if I only give a shit about the story?
I played 4 and 5 and the dungeon segments with the turn based combat really didnt do anything for me, but I really enjoyed the story in both those games

Toradora VN.
