bruh just get one of the low end headsets, they are really cheap (150 bucks sometimes even 100) and they offer the exact same experience as the high end ones and sometimes even better in some cases (the WMR cheapo ones have higher resolutions than the OG Vive/Oculus headsets)

i've tried the Index and to be honest, while the controllers are kinda cool because they track your finger movement, they really do not change the experience that much, and at that price point it's a fucking scam.

The same M+KB 'FPS' noclip camera control mode as works in Robot Repair and SteamVR Home will work in Alyx, but a properly 'playable' M+KB version will probably simply never happen. It'd be as arduous and pointless an endeavor (for as unfulfilling an experience) as 'porting' Half-Life 2 to run via text-adventure type controls.

I stopped caring about half life when they stopped making them over 10 years ago though. A spin off title made to sell VR headsets isnt going to be the thing get me interested again. Regardless they dont really care if it sells, they just want to know what the reception is for the series in a smaller bubble like VR and if the VR aspects are a hit with people, they aren't doing this game as some massive revival of HL either way, it's a test to see if they can use it to push VR harder or if people just dont care that much.

Index is the best in terms of quality although it's one thousand dollarydoos. WMR headsets are a good budget option in the ~200 dollar region, the best WMR headsets are the Samsung and Acer ones.
