My only real gripe is the marauder. He's antithetical to doom. I get what they were going for, but it goes against the nature of the game plus his AI (and most of the AI in the game) is wonky. Could be worst 7/10.

the trick is to use all your weapons. They didn't want one weapon to be so overused that it just became the game ender, that they made ammo storage fairly low, and chainsaw cd is pretty high. You use a few different weapons so you never end up entirely without ammo. If you're shit and can't aim, well, that's on you. I'm on ultra nightmare and never once have I "run out of ammo". Health and armor are basically one in the same, you just flame belch a glory kill ready enemy, hit the glory, get the armor and health all at once. Chainsaw if you need ammo on a flame belched too. All the shitty platforming garbage that removes any semblance of action, or the terrible arenas where they cut your speed in half and stop you from jumping or dashing are the terrible parts.

How do you know which weapon to switch to though? Ammo for other guns isn't displayed. So you just switch randomly and hope it isn't empty. They fucked it up. If you want me to constantly switch weapons, at least fucking tell me which weapons I can currently use.

It's a problem, but switching between guns doesn't take much more than a fraction of a second.

this game has a progression problem. it is the same problem I had with Hollow Knight. Everything is piece meal'd to death; it doesn't feel organic or interesting. A lot of the upgrades are there just to make the game less annoying eg. faster glory animations or better loot pickup. The game has like 7 different currencies for upgrades, it's fucking annoying to track of. Its like I am playing banjo kazooie or donkey kong 64.

R1 is a weapon wheel. It shows ammo and you can select which weapon mod you want by pressing up on the D- pad.

Like I said, I have no way to know which guns have ammo and instead of not letting me switch to empty guns like every normal game this one DOES let me select an empty gun, it spends 2 seconds pulling it out, tells me it's empty and then makes me draw another gun. Draw the wrong gun 2-3 times in a row while in a fight and you're pretty much dead because you can't shoot for 4-6 seconds. See that's where the problem is. In other games if you click 2 but gun 2 has no ammo, you don't switch to gun 2 and you don't waste your time.
