Imagine that you could push a button that would generate an incredible, perfect, mindblowing game every time you pushed it, but after pushing it your consciousness would be trapped in an empty void for 500 million years, unable to sleep or die, with nothing to do but think. After the time is up, your consciousness would return to your body exactly as it was when you pressed the button and all memory of those 500 million years would be completely wiped. Would you push it?

Bump

No because I'm not a fucking retard.

no, i'd get someone else to push it

Hey guys guess who just got their perfect game by only pushing a button, smell ya later losers

I would pick that option without a doubt. You see, I have perfected a technique that has allowed me to effectively "skip" years of my life in the blink of an eye. I mean, I could even "teleport" myself to my deathbed right now, if I wanted to. So in retrospect, 500 million years is not such a long time, if I take the neccesary steps to undertake such a journey.

I would do it 100 times

I have mastered the art of doing nothing for years

We have this thread every other day.
The hypothetical question is retarded because you don't remember it.

Is each game better than the last or are they all equally "perfect"?

Equal

you would just get the same game again

So just a very long dream?
That's fine

Better question:
What bideogame world wpuld you be transported to live in for that period of time?
It would be slightly changed to accomodate the fact you exist in it. You could choose to either be yourself with many but not all human limitations, or you could be the character of the game with all their abilities.
You cant choose online multiplayer games, and you can choose something like a fanmade mod/modpack, but nothing like skyrim or gmod where its just an avalanche of neverending content.
Where do you choose to live? If you die you just respawn.

Attached: video_games.jpg (400x451, 36.9K)

Not necessarily. Each game is perfect in its own regard, but while one press would generate an RPG, another may create an FPS, another still might make a puzzle game.

Different, though all equally enthralling and perfect.

Any other videos or stories like this? I want more.

if the memory will wouldnt be wiped then yes

yes, no matter if my mind would die, i reach enlightenment or go mad, all of it i would forget anyway

OOT so that I can relive the years when I had a "going into games" machine

I am close to achieving this ability too. For most of my life, I have been able to jump ahead many hours by simply laying on a surface and closing my eyes.

No, thanks, I've read The Jaunt.

>500,000,000 years of doing nothing
>for a videogame

Attached: 1584453422757.png (219x258, 115.87K)

no i'd get someone else to press it

What was that one book about god/a god that took the soul of one philsopher and tried to break him because he was bored but it never worked?

A porn game featuring my favourite pornstars

A perfect videogame, user.
Please explain this theory to an idiot.

This, you can tell OP has absolutely no life whatsoever and hates most of the games he doesn't even play

The Mario world seems like a fun place with a fairly large variety of different stuff

Consider:
>500,000,000 years of doing nothing when you really couldn't stand just 1 year of complete isolation
>you might mentally disintegrate a few years in if you don't turn into a schizophrenic just to cope with the absence of everything except your thoughts
>your mental damage might last when you come back, it mentions that you lose all memory but not all the alterations of your brain
As for the videogame
>game gets released and is universally considered perfect, so perfect in fact that the entire industry collapses because everyone only wants to play this game and nothing else, no game will ever come close to the perfect game's quality
>alternatively the entire industry is repurposed around this one single perfect videogame, kind of like all the things related to huge franchises like Star Wars but on steroids
Here's a better dilemma:
Assuming that you have a gf and a mother, their minds get swapped and the only way to make them come back to their correct bodies is to fuck one of them. Who do you fuck?

Attached: 1584114830861.jpg (500x500, 32.93K)

of course you push it. if you were in isolation in your mind and you don't remember it then it didn't happen

Mother in gf's body
You're already familiar with it and if the rules of no voice change apply, it wouldn't be weird after 5 minutes.

Because of the memory wipe part, it's effectively like you're making a different person live out the 500 million years.

The question really being posed here is whether you would subject another person to unfathomable lifetimes of torture for some vidya, or whatever it is in the original question.

IT'S LONGER THAN YOU THINK, DAD!
LONGER THAN YOU THINK!
Honestly one of the most disturbing depictions of this kind of thing. It's eternity in there.

Obviously. I'd push it one thousand million times.
The real question is, how does the game come to exist? Does some random developer instantly creates it somewhere in the world? Does it just pop into existence? Are the IP rights mine?

>getting more Sonic Adventurekino
Sure. Plus I've got a tulpa so I'll have someone to talk to

Attached: grind.jpg (1200x901, 770.31K)

What about pressing the button getting no game but getting 500 million years of time

>Giving your Tulpa 500 million years to either evolve into some sort of transcendent being or the time to overwrite your own personality.

Mario and Pokémon are pretty safe and comfy worlds. Monsters that don't kill you, infinite lives, cool powerups and then you encorporate mods, oh boi!

Attached: PicsArt_03-04-08.09.21.jpg (1437x1080, 196.59K)

That's not really how that works. They aren't magical or malicious or anything so I don't think she'd evolve into a superbeing or try to replace me. They're closer to just secondary personalities that you can interact with and nuture via thought or something. I don't know exactly how it works, it just does. The human brain is weird.

Attached: sonic mirror.jpg (531x500, 159.01K)

>They aren't malicious
Only if you bake them right.

Attached: mlp tulpa.png (1600x5000, 1.71M)

The game I'd make would be even better for the profound, forgotten suffering.

Please bring user back to talk, Tulpanon.

>It just does

Does it though? Has there ever been a case where someone with a completely normal brain with no mental disorders of any nature (including autism) was able to make a tulpa. Because all the people I see who have them were already mentally ill to some degree before they made it.

Attached: 1584374823886m.jpg (1024x678, 82.92K)

I mean, I have autism so I guess you've got a point, but if I can hear, see and feel her and I feel mentally stable, I'd call that working.
We're not practiced enough to switch like that yet.

Attached: shadow flower.jpg (500x650, 229.82K)

Monster Hunter
It'll be kino traveling the world, killing all sorts of monsters

Attached: mhbonespit.gif (600x337, 3.79M)

>tfw I achieve enlightenment and then lose it all so i can play bing bing wahoo

Attached: 500 million year button.png (813x670, 1.12M)

Now that's hard.
I'd probably choose something with high powers so I can fuck around with them for all those years.
Maybe a fighting game or Dragon's Dogma just for Cassardis.

do you remember hangouts after heavy drinking?
no.
press the button.

Attached: 7rzsukx9e4h41.jpg (1960x4032, 1.1M)

Sounds like a win-win to me

How about the reverse? A button that, when you press it, produces a game/a million yen/whatever, that doesn't actually do anything to you physically when you press it, but which instantly makes you gain the memory of having spent 500 million years in an empty void. It doesn't actually happen to you but will make you remember as if you did. Would that be a button you’d press?

ZWhat would be the difference

If I can fuck the villagers, Animal Crossing for sure.

The original one you don’t remember what happened and as far as you know afterwards nothing happened, but you do actually spend that long period in the void. In the hypothetical one I brought up you don’t actually spend any time in the void but you remember as if you did spend a whole 500 million years there

gf in mom's body so I can finally get over that urge

It's not disturbing because we can tell what's going to happen by the second paragraph of the story.

It would probably fuck up your perception of time or make all your next few experiences some of the best shit ever.

No I mean what would be the difference between doing it and remembering doing it

You used the going into games machine for majoras mask idiot

nigga that's called sleeping and everyone can do it.

>mfw I stole someone's GIGM back in 2006 and have been using it ever since

Attached: 1557040244233.gif (360x238, 1.43M)

Protip: use your GIGM while wearing VR, it makes it feel more real for some reason

>have been using it ever since
Even right now? What are you trying to say user.

I can do that too, but I usually have to initiate an accelerated bhop first.
