DD honestly doesn't have great design. In every big fight you have two choices:
A) Use the cheesiest and best damage move over and over while stacking periapts
B) Actually try to be skilled and have the fight take 4 times as long because you are using all the game's mechanics

I think I took 3 hours to beat Daimon I, once. That was also because I was underleveled. With BBI I allow myself wakes but that's it. It stops you from jobbing but it doesn't make the fight easier, just longer.

DD equipment scales really poorly going towards the end of the game. Only BB actually continuously gives you great equipment throughout
I didn't say it was hard, I said it'd be awful. Grigori is the number one fight that shouldn't take so long but does because the game leaves players with horrible equipments for that stage in the game. If you are trying to stagger him and shit you're a fucking retard. Cheese = 20 minute fight or less, not cheese = 40-1 hour fight which just feels awful in this game
