Laras game is now FREE on Steam
it's such trash I don't even want it for free.
i still have to install steam to get it,that's a high price for a pirate
>landing gear down
It's using them for extra drag so that Lara is in the firing arc longer.
i paid $3 for it maybe 2 years ago and now square is giving it out for free. fuck this shit. not going to buy another game ever again.
>already owned the game
>tfw basically got nothing and paid for it
it's the definition of a souless game. It carbon copies all other games at the time of release.
Thanks for the heads-up, I guess?
>free
Slut
It's like Uncharted, but with some actual gameplay
I liked it
They can keep it.
Play TR 1-4 instead.
And what gameplay is there that isnt in uncharted?
Play it and find out you nonce.
thanks for the heads up
>Actual exploration
>Side-objectives
>Customization & crafting
>Levels that aren't a straight line
A ton?
Fapping to impalement and moaning.
Temple of Osiris is free as well
It's a far better game, and very underrated
Check it out
it´s a Uncharted copy-paste, with Lara using Batman X-ray vision.
guardian of the light is better
what game, 2?
I have played both, and I can tell you for an absolute fact that uncharted is a better game.
Let's begin
>Actual exploration
Nope, not taking this one at all with uncharted 4 shitting all over it in its open areas.
>Side-objectives
Uncharted has collectables just like tomb raider.
>Customization & crafting
the changes the 'skill tree makes to the gameplay are very minimal and crafting is boring busywork for little payoff. Granted, uncharted does not have this, but its better off without it.
>Levels that aren't a straight line
They absolutely are in a straight line, what the fuck are you on about?
Don't bother replying, because you know you are already wrong.
Is Shadow and Rise any good?
They're both on -80% sale
Is uncharted free though.
How much does sony pay you to shill?
they pretty fun games to play through once
if you liked the reboot you'll enjoy them. shadow of the tomb raider tbqh is criminally underrated
They're all solid games for a single playthrough
Not goty material, but worth it for that price
TR2
Why?
>uncharted is a better game
Oh okay, you're just baiting then, good to know.
Having paid money for it, I cant even recommend it for free.
its not terrible, it is just not worth playing if you have ANYTHING else.
This game is extremely bad, I regret even trying it
>tomb raider reboot came out in 2013
What the FUCK
How has it been SEVEN YEARS
rise was a massive improvement on the "original" bad reboot.
still not great, though.
It was really forgettable. Is this their offering for people sitting at home with nothing to do?
Poor man's Uncharted. Arguably the best of the trilogy. Solid 7/10 which means Yas Forums should be sucking its clit off on the daily.
>uncharted 4 shitting all over it in its open areas.
uncharted 4 is empty with open areas, TR is empty with corridors and tiny "wilderness" enclosures, both lack any sort of exploration.
TR is not superior in any way, but uncharted does nothing actually better.
to be honest, i don't remember why
Literally not worth the SSD space.
thanks user
>bought it in the winter sale and haven’t played it yet
It was like less than $3, but still fml
>Nope, not taking this one at all with uncharted 4 shitting all over it in its open areas.
The open areas in Uncharted 4 were empty voids, only there to momentarily stumble around in until you found the one way the proceeded the story.
>Uncharted has collectables just like tomb raider.
Oh wow, another old coin!
>Granted, uncharted does not have this, but its better off without it.
Grapes.
>They absolutely are in a straight line
Not as much a straight line as several connected open areas.
Just finished Rise. It felt like a step down from 2013. They tried to reduce the platform snapping and use of detective mode but did so in a wonky way. There are also some small details that annoys me.
Starting Shadow now and they have separate difficulty selections for platforming and detective vision, so that's already an improvement I guess.
>It was really forgettable.
I envy you.
>Arguably the best of the trilogy.
Objectively the worst in all aspects. espcially writing, which improved by being merely bad in the later games.
> Solid 7/10
Shaky 5/10. If you are generous.
Anyone else strongly prefer the TR2013 to Rise? Rise went too heavy on the resource collecting and crafting shit, and the open areas had way too many collectable shit, making the game feel bloated. I also preferred the jungle setting of the first game.
Not sure if I should try Shadow or not.
This. It's nothing you haven't played before. It's a third person action game with stealth elements, light crafting, everything that was en vogue at the time. It's serviceable, but not particularly entertaining, interesting or memorable. Same for the sequels just with a few added gimmicks and better visuals.
Shadow is pretty good
I 100%ed Uncharted 1 & 2 and I remember almost nothing about them because they were so fucking bland.
They definitely weren't as offensively crappy as Tomb Raider though. And they just tried to be simple dumb action movies.
TR is borderline creepy, like a game developed by a team of depraved simps. Simultaneously "YAAAAAS QUEEN SLAY" and "haha its been three minutes since we had Lara writhing in pain lets impale her or something haha"
I remember thinking the level design is good in this one. The others are shit though.
Uncharted with Ubisoft checklists, yawn.
No thanks, I don't want people thinking im into that horse stuff.
Same. Rise added way too many gimmicks. I liked the setting though, the gulag especially. Had lots of propaganda posters, tools and neat details laying about.
I forget most games, even the ones I have played multiple times. So I kinda get to rediscover favourites cause I remember what I enjoyed but not much about the game itself.
reboot is only a trillion times better than that garbage
i don't see the point in posturing in front of a group of anonymous retards in order to pretend otherwise
I played this shit when it was a free game on PS+ back in like 2014. Too much QTE and Lara's tits are nothing special anymore. Just play Uncharted 2 instead.
But I already played her better game.
shadow is okay, but maybe the worst out of the three. if you liked the others then you probably like that one as well.
way less shooting in that. which i'd usually prefer but they didn't really add anything to counter that
>nuLara
Yeah I noticed that Rise seems more reliant on fast travelling. Collectables even in one-off areas are often gated behind later gadgets or language levels. You also had to fast travel in order to farm enough materials for upgrading everything. The plot even fast travels at certain points. 2013 may have a lot of contrived sequences to shove Lara to the next area but at least they didn't do outright teleportation.
>>reboot is only a trillion times better than that garbage
Wrong.
Thought it couldn't be that bad.
>30 minutes in
It is that bad.
well it IS landing after all
I don't want it.
>Objectively the worst
Rise was a bloated, console-ized step back from reboot. Shit opinion DISCARDED.
Her landing ramp is that wide.
They should've given away one of the earlier crystal dynamics developed games. Legend, anniversary and underworld deserve more recognition, plus they can run on any shitbox these days.
You're right, user. Games were actually all shit twenty years ago and everyone was just pretending to have fun.
TR2013 has nothing of that. There is virtually no exploration, the "side-objectives" are no objectives, "collect stuff to get this mandatory weapon and then never do something with it again" isn't crafting and "sliding down a long ride or going along a long ride" is a straight line in the most basic sense.
I 100%'d it in 16 hours, with absolutely no replay value.
Is this the ones with the unnecessarily gorey and torture-gorn death animations that make my pp hard?
wtf
I only played Uncharted 1/2/3 but they are incredibly poorly designed games, even ''for their time'' which is the excuse Sony fans seem to use. Even the presentation, animation quality, set pieces, sound design and all that jazz are certainly not up to par with actual AAA games.
Only good thing about it are the characters, the AI and those descendant fighting missions in the submarine base where the gameply seems to actually kick off and you get some Lost Planet vibes.
only literal imbeciles fill their library with trash they dont play.
shovel ware consoomerism
Yes but they toned it down in later games
>console-ized
Yeah TR2013 was exactly the kind of boundary-pushing, technical and kinesthetic achievement like crysis only the PC could provide, and not some QTE-filled, by the numbers third person action game aping whatever consoleshit was hot at the time
>cinematic over the shoulder console tps with tackled on crafting and rpg upgrade system
no thank I would rather get corona
At least with the game you don't have to go outside to get sick.
