On top of that, the dub for P5 is just as great as the original voice track. Use an actual bad example of a dub like Arc Rise Fantasia or something.

I use the english voices because the english version itself always uses the script of the dub, and the sub version never actually subtitles everything, just whatever dialogue has text appearing on screen in the original game, meaning you miss out on lots of little moments and bits of character.
If you can't actually speak japanese and have to play the botched atlus version you don't get to act smug to anyone.

This. Every time I hear the "screechy little girl voice" I wind up having to turn down the volume because for some reason they are several decibels louder than everyone else around them, like bad sound mixing, but it's really just the piercing quality of their cutesy girl voice.

japanese games advertising themselves based on "that guy who did that voice in that anime you like is doing that same voice in this game" is one of the worst things that's happened to japanese gaming next to gatchatrash.
instead of selling your game on it's own merits (and having to actually make a product worth buying), just say "mizuki/nana/whoever is in it" and legions of stans will buy your game for no reason.

I haven't been excited about Nana Mizuki being in something since Cross Ange, which was roughly the last time she actually tried either. I love Tsubasa but it's charitable to even call voicing that character "acting" at this point.
