I love the chiptune themes a lot, I really do. The only problem I have is that chiptune doesn't work well with Guilty Gear.

I don't think anyone prefers the original Dreamcast songs of the Heavy Rock Tracks versions. Whenever you see someone talk about stuff like Still in the Dark and Awe of She, they always mean the HRT renditions. Hell, every GGX version released after the original Dreamcast one uses the remixed sound. A better debate would the X vs XX soundtracks.

I'm guessing that the boss character doesn't reappear as playable in later installments

She does appear non-canonically, though it’s unlikely that we’ll see it again at least for a long time.

She's a tournament viable character in Accent Core +R, so she could definitely come back for this game since there is a precedent to her being a balanced character.

Closed beta on PC. I'm actually considering buying a Bloodborne machine but I know I'll regret it.
