Let's hope so. I think the game is quite good. Visually it looks fantastic, exploration is rewarding, making combos between multiple characters is fun. There is a lot of potential here if they don't just decide to ruin everything with the gachashit.

It takes a whole lot of cues from BotW in most of its quest/world design philosophy, which is a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you feel about that. I've absolutely had that feeling of setting out towards a particular task, getting distracted by something along the way which leads to something else and an hour later remembering what I actually went that way to do. Random chests to find, little 30 second tasks or big arena fights, random NPCs walking around the world to talk to. I'm actually really impressed by the worldbuilding and flavour text, there's a whole fucking lot of it, on top of the manga on their website they've been doing for a number of months now. If anyone has access to the beta, go to the library and pick up the books in there, there are dozens of them and each one is pretty long. The translation is very good - mostly. There's a lot of text in dialogue and quests that needs another editing pass for consistency/to actually match the spoken lines and subtitles, and some typos. English dub is no worse than your average weeaboo game which is to say plebs will like it but it's not good. I'm amazed it got a dub at all. At least language is optional, with superior thousand times folded nipponese being in the final game.

And where do you need those broken characters? In the one ultra-autism hyperwhale retard mode that no one sane needs to go anywhere near. The rest of the content is entirely doable with literally any character you can farm up for free.

What's the point of playing some braindead content and never getting any good gear or gacha characters you may want? Of course you can fucking clear story mode with whatever, what the fuck are you going to do after that? "Autoplay" the same story missions for frags and eventually get welfare gear for... what, exactly? Abyss may be retarded, but it gets you loadsacrystals, and MA can get pretty technical and fun to just play, even if you're not competing for top 100 or whatever. If not that, why play at all?

Do you have dailies to do like in other gacha games?

There are dailies after a certain level, yeah. Seem to mostly be 'go here and kill some things'.

What fun? I find MA fun. High intensity Abyss maybe not so much, but unlike in other gacha the characters you unlock are actually properly playable, so I'm watching crystals increase until a point of getting a new character for more fun. New gear can change the way you play and allow for proper rotations = fun.
I don't know what your idea of fun is. I guess events with trial suits can be pretty fun, but for example the one that's currently up can be finished in like half an hour, Liliya's stage aside. And that stage is only fun in its normal version, the Hard one is just retarded.

Playable characters aren't actually acknowledged by the game at all, and you only need one of each element, which it gives you over time. If a character is with you for a particular quest, they'll usually be included as a 'trial' character in your party. If not, then you're basically playing as the protagonist at all times and the switching is... I dunno, them changing their element with MC-power and imagining themself as being someone else? Whatever the case it doesn't create any real holes, I just wish it wasn't possible to unlock characters before meeting them in the story.
