Yeah, I'm thinking this officially is the best game in the series.
Yeah, I'm thinking this officially is the best game in the series
I agree! Good taste OP. Have a good day :)
I’m thinking of buying just because there’s nothing to do but I get the feeling it will be some ultra casual shit and I will hate it
>timegating finished content in real time by the day
Smells bad, man. Don't trust it.
I'm really hoping the villagers get more interesting after day one. Both would barely want to talk to me.
already lost a point from me for having a week long gatekeeping tutorial
it takes like 10 minutes in every other game, fucking why would you do this
Where are these people coming from? AC has literally been the "real time daily life" game for 20 FUCKING YEARS and people are STILL getting tripped up by NH.
week long?
I'm certainly enjoying it.
>Where are these people coming from?
Their mother’s womb sometime between 10 and 17 years ago, evidently. Wish our mods actually played enough games to contextually know when someone’s underaged just by what kind of shit they complain about.
Legit sociopathy
Are the regular furniture sets in the game? I haven't seen any.
Tbh, I kinda like it better. Once you get the ability to do everything, day-to-day just becomes your typical chores. Catch new bugs/fish/fossils, clear out the weeds, pay the house loan, etc. Inevitably, NH will end up like this too, but at least the slow burn means that I wont reach that point by day 2.
It helps that I get to design the whole island now though.
It’s flawless so far. Everything is just such high quality from performance to sound design to visuals and dialogue. 10/10
It's good, but some of the time gating is a little annoying. At the least I'd like to be able to listen to hourly music. I think my biggest peeves are not being able to use a stylus to make a design despite it working for text and how often tools break though. That shit should stay in BOTW.
>I get the feeling it will be some ultra casual shit and I will hate it
Thats exactly what it is user, do you even know what Animal Crossing is?
I hate playing this card, but I really don't regret taking 3 minutes to go get something that'll help keep my mental illness at bay for the weeks I'll have to hole up at home as this gets worse. Social isolation is hell and this'll keep me occupied. My Switch is getting delivered tomorrow and I've literally been dragging myself through my current depressive episode by telling myself if I don't function, I can't get Animal Crossing. If I didn't force myself out of bed this morning to get groceries, I wouldn't've let myself get the game. It's stupid but it works as motivation.
got Merengue, I'm happy
Chad opinion
shut up, attentionwhore
Isn't it too early to judge if this is the best in the series? NH is pretty limiting in the beginning so it's hard to compare right now.
>no hourly music
>paid off my initial debt in 3 hours of playtime
>"Me! Me! Me!" attitude over the comfy feeling of moving into a pre-existing community in the world, which the original game was meant to capture
>Crafting items take up so much fucking pocket space
The crafting is a great addition but this is most likely going to end up being my least favorite in the entire series
Animal Crossing has the most toxic fanbase
It's not ultra casual to collect all the stuff in the game and decorate your house, and now town, just the way you want it. It takes a huge amount of autism that casuals don't have the patience for. Even I usually have to stop after a month or two.
>tons of cut content
>the best in the series
ok new leafer
>have to click through 3000 excess dialogue windows to give a fish to blathers
>have to go through ten thousand dialogue windows and animations to craft a stack of fish bait
>regular neighbors say 1 line and then stop talking to you
why?
Me too. My dilation schedule has been really messing with my mental state but this game is the perfect way to relax after a session. So wholesome :)
>but this is most likely going to end up being my least favorite in the entire series
It's still better than City Folk
>paid off my initial debt in 3 hours of playtime
Are you... are you fucking retarded
soulless
Hourly music is literally in the game, what the fuck are you on about?
>played Resident Evil 3 demo.
>turned it off after 10 minutes
>Played Animal Crossing New Horizons
>Play it all day long.
Nintendo does it again. Another superb game in a world of dross.
I also hate this shit
I've been playing for 3 hours today and everything I've done could've been accomplished in 30 minutes if it weren't for the slow-ass animations and text bubbles
>click on crafting table
>WOULD YOU LIKE TO CRAFT Y/N?
>cycle to recipe
>ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THIS Y/N?
>accidentally hit B because I've been hitting B to make dialogue go faster so repeat the steps above
>CRAFTING ANIMATION
>YOU CRAFTED THING
>WOULD YOU LIKE TO KEEP CRAFTING? Y/N?
make it fucking stop
is RE3 third party or first party?
I like the fact you can make money with grass and build stuff with things that would usually sell for more currency.
Also my mom sent me cherries, and that really made me happy because I got oranges as the local fruit.
Also one of my first villagers is bit tiddie goth gf, can't be happier honestly
Nintendo makes bad games.
*Sony
lol upvoted
>The crafting is a great addition
I can't understand how you can think that from a tool perspective or from an inventory perspective. Yes, it's great that you can make DIY items out of random stuff you find and yes, it's cool that stuff I fish out of the sea can be turned into wearable shoes or decorations. But at the same time it's an annoyance to have to constantly go grab a bunch of wood, craft a tool that is going to break in 10 uses, and if I don't want that I have to waste an iron ore which isn't exactly in plentiful supply at the start at least to get something like 30 uses instead of 10. You even have to keep separate equips like low level stone axes just so you don't chop down trees. This isn't even getting into the issue of inventory space. Nearly the entire bottom row of my inventory is just wood, rocks, and sticks.
This entire crafting system hurts exploration due to the breakable equips to justify it because you can be doing something, have the item break, and now you have to go make another one. Or, you have to constantly keep two of the same tools on you at any given time.
It also doesn't help that higher tier tools need the older tool made plus more material meaning you have to deal with crafting them multiple times in a row in order to just get one item and that means sitting through all those menus.
another pic of me and my waifu the first time we met, also I hope this game will get free updates like more fishes, fossils and such
I really liked my town name but as soon as I went online people kept misreading it and making fun of it. I've played for like 18 straight hours and I'm feeling sad about it now. Is it worth resetting just to make a slight adjustment to my town name? I'd literally just be adding a space.
How do I get up to the raised platforms on the island?
Is he in the game?
Not him, I am loving this game so far, but the Music is basically the same throughout the day and night.
It's just the guitar song, nothing else.
You unlock hourly music when you get the town hall
Nook will teach you about ladders on Day 3 at the earliest assuming you are accomplishing all your possible goals each day
what name?
>You unlock hourly music when you get the town hall
OH FUCK.
Okay now I'm hyped, thanks user.
What name?
At the risk of the sharing it with the people laughing at me, Hotcocoast. Like Hot cocoa coast.
might as well have named it Holocoast
I would go so far as to say it is the best game ever made.
I read it as Hotco Coast but I don't see why that'd be something to laugh at?
>get enough specimens for the museum
>blathers fucks off for a day
>get enough shit for the store
>cant sell shit for a day
>nobody else has moved in yet despite spending jazillions of nook miles
>all you have for company is phoebe and some frog, neither of which are very talkative or want you to do anything
>little to nothing else substantial to do meanwhile
Why didn't you just name it something like Cocoa Coast? Rolls off the tongue better and doesn't sound like holocaust
Were villager errands straight up removed?
probably costco or holocoast
>Hotcocoast
Hot coco ass tea? wtf is wrong with you??
Point and laugh at user!
Any graveyard shift chads here? I sleep all day, go to work, get off at 4 am and get home just in time for the new in game day and subsequently the new shit.
Yeah that's how I read it too every time, but once I started going online with Yas Forums several people said this
that's Animal Crossing, unless you time travel or use hacks, which defeats the main feature of AC, playing it a bit everyday and let your stuff grow and get something new every day
LMFAO
>The crafting is a great addition
Minecraft is shit and only dumb kids played it.
people on Yas Forums are subhuman so don't worry about it
Nah mate, it ain't worth the change and loss of progress.
I like it desu, the only problem is I read it as "Hotco Coast" but I think that's probably a limitation relating to the amount of letters you can have in a name, than on your part.
Eitherway man, don't let it ruin your fun, it's a fine name.
I don't know why they thought only giving you two villagers with two basic lines of dialogue at the beginning was a good idea. Both will also get annoyed with you if you speak to them more than 4 times.
At least Genji gave me a nice hat.
I'm a neet on graveyard hours because being locked indoors by the plague ruined my sleep schedule does that count
What's everyone town names?
Tumbletown here
>>no hourly music
wait, really? Jesus christ
