Pretty much everything in NDRv3 and especially ZTD that people kept shitting on were in the previous games too, you just finally realized they were both fucking idiots.

They only got popular because of the novelty of 999 being one of the few M-rated DS games, and DR starting off with a fan-translated let's play. Once you remove the gimmicks that made them big, it becomes clear they were never good in the first place.

v3 had the most potential in the series but it suffers the most out of the writing issue DR has where it focuses on initial shock value over actual good writing
every DR game has this issue, but V3 has it by far the worst
