I haven't played the game myself yet. Only watched a friend play it for a couple hours, so don't know about anything after the 2nd or 3rd boss (the fire dude you drop water buckets on). Considering wirriam apparently shows up, I'm assuming she will too.

I got Nioh 2 with season pass. How much is it better compared to Nioh 1? I finished it completely but never played the DLCs because I was busy with MHW

Didn't go back to 1 and get the DLCs because 2 came out so I got it.

How many mages does the side mission require? I want to see if it's possible to complete it before unlocking it.

It's also disappointing to me that a lot of players are relying purely on broken builds that obliterate enemies without a fight, but I also recognise that it's how they want to play the game and leave it at that. There's no right way to play the game, at the end of the day the only thing that matters is if the player enjoyed how they beat it themselves.

sloth+lightning spells to put things in timestop so you can just rape them
rejuvenation talismans will make elixirs almost completely obsolete (sitting on like 200 of them in storage now since I never use them anymore)
Blessed bolts and guardian talismans are also pretty good

onmyo has always only ever been a discord and buff engine. That hasn't changed and probably will never change.
The bright side of that is basically nothing is resistant to this shiny new purity status so throwing discord on enemies is the easiest it's ever been.
