me too, planning my routes, watching the terrain and my footing and balancing my loads while interacting with other players structures was just fun. the moment it clicked for me was when i had to bring back the chiral artist and on my way to the junk dealer i found a bike someone left for the first time. got on it, started driving and the music started and it was a cool experience of just being connected to other players that way.

the criticism i don't understand is how people whine that it's an "empty open world". in my opinion this games open world was way more interesting than most others because the terrain of the world itself shaped how you played the game. i don't need a fucking ? on the map and some point of interest at the end of my journey when the journey itself is interesting. meanwhile in a lot of other games people just eat up like Red Dead Redemption 2 walking from one place to another is all you do for 70% of the game, with basically zero gameplay involved (you just autowalk to your destination) and i hear noone crying about how that game is a boring piece of shit

Death Stranding is a 10/10 and the Citizen Kane of video games. Gaming universities will be analyzing this game for the rest of time.

it's a real walking sim where your character walking through uneven terrain with a heavy lopsided load on his back is actually conveyed throigh mechanics like balancing and weight distribution and exhaustion. there is combat, boss fights, gadgets and items, you can piss, there's asynchronous multiplayer where you can see where other players have pissed, and you can leave helpful objects for other players for traversal like ladders/ziplines

The most overrated shit creator of the world.

it's a walking sim, but they made a decent job at turning it into actual gameplay.
You have to consider terrain, what supplies you bring with you and what enemies you might encounter. The game does a good job at making things varied, both in level design and changing how you have to approach deliveries.
It's the kind of game that punishes people tha want to just bruteforce their way through.

The story is about a post apocalypse brought by the deads coming back to the living world and causing explosions whenever they touch living beings, so your job is to reconnect cities across america to rebuild the country and also stop a terrorist that wants to cause humanity's extinction.

I loved it, but it's not for everyone. If you don't care about the game you can watch the cutscenes on yt, but to me it wouldn't be the same thing

MGS1 had a remake for the gamecube and Snake's been in Smash ever since, the most deranged ones(like ESL-kun here) believe Kojima somehow belong to nintendo because of that.
