This game was surprisingly good and unique.
Why was it hated again?

too different

It's just the worst Kojima game.
A fucking Delivery Simulator game!

The very concept is unpalatable to most people. It could have done what it did ten times better than it actually did and it would still be hated.

only americans hated it

But i loved it, played it for about 100 hours.

Only idiot Kojidrones love this garbage

It was boring to watch so it had a bad first impression. Had they actually played it a lot more people wouldve liked it. Gameplay is good but watching a playthrough would make it seem like the worst thing ever

It didnt appeal to normalfags which confused most people because it seemed like a game that would at first. All the actors, big budget, definitely weird but nothing that normalfags couldnt stomach. And close to release it was actually nothing like most people expected, its a niche concept. AAA delivery simulator with quite alot of action, but not enough to hold attention of people who dont like slow games.

It has too much soul for modern audiences.

I find it one of the worst open world games ever made.
And certainly the most boring

PREASE.....my muzzer who is white said dat you were dead...evven though you rive rike 20 minutes away....prease ret me be carried rike cargo by strong boondock saints man...me rove you rong time...

i honestly loved it in a weird, zen way.
The game was surprisingly polished and not at all as uncontrollable as some compilation videos online made it seem.
My only beef is that most of the big revelations happen all at the end, but it was very good, it oozed attention to detail in everything and i was oddly happy to receive mails from people i helped and know what they did after that.
Also the payoff to doing all the pizza quest was amazing

but it's not an open world game?

European here, yo yo. I don't find it particularily astonishing, I don't really awe at it, but I still play it regularily since November and I rather enjoy myself with it. It's a bit too addictive though.

Yes.
And it is easily the worst open world game ever made for me.

careful or you'll become a mule

>good
false
>unique
true to an extent. but that doesn't necessarily make a game worth playing

dumbass, just having a big map doesn't mean it's open world

>not liking a game makes it objectively bad
why do people think like this?

>Why was it hated again?
It's less interesting than PT was.

gameplay is trash

So uhh... those delivery bots were kinda hot right haha? Just as a joke though haha...
unless?

Give normies another few weeks of isolation and self reflection from fear of an invisible threat, and they might have developed enough IQ to get it.

I loved the game. It's a cool thing that you don't see often in the games industry. A big-budget AAA indie game that, even at BEST was only ever going to have niche appeal. It's not that surprising that it's so divisive when everyone's expectations were through the roof and they were expecting something with more universal appeal. Instead they got an Armored Core game but with walking instead of piloting mechs.

For me personally it was great. It wasn't perfect (stuff like certain bossfights being frustrating, lack of decent checkpoints, some hilariously bad writing/performances) but overall I really loved my time with it. It also gave me the same anonymous camaraderie feelings that I hadn't gotten since playing through Demon's Souls/Dark Souls for the first time

Ridiculous bad game
Terrible crap game

The worst open world game ever made

I loved it. It frustrated the hell out of me at times, but I haven't stopped thinking about it since I completed it on Tuesday night.

The most useless waste of time and money I've ever made in this gen. For this game shit.
MGSV is also infinitely better game than this delivery garbage game

even if i hadn't liked it i would have respected it. It's nice to see people able to make the game they wanna make without feeling the need to follow current trends.
In an age where tripleA games are made with a cookie cutter death stranding stood out to me

The most forgettable and crappy shitty game I've ever played in my life.

game could have come in PS2 era and would still be the same thing
also creator is retard and has a scitzo cult following of exceptional individuals

Attached: retarded.jpg (724x265, 22.96K)

This big fail game is the perfect example of how not to make a videogame.
Since it seems to be more of a bad badly written movie....

the people who say that this is a "bad" "open world game" are some of the most retarded people on the planet because death stranding does "open world" maybe the best out of literally any game ever. The world(s) are so big and most players can tell exactly where they are and exactly how to get to where they want after seeing the environment once because of the extreme level of intimacy you have with the level design even if it looks like a bunch of nature and rocks to someone who hasnt played it before

>death stranding
>forgettable

>it's a movie not a game
wanna know how i know you didn't play it and just read shitpost on Yas Forums?

Why do all of these replies seem like they're written by one ESL poster

Yas Forums is just shit, simple as.

you literally can't properly discuss games here 99% of the time. it's just shills, seethers, actual retards, kids (remember, most of them aren't at school), outright contrarians, etc.

>"I'm Fragile.... but not that fragile...."

What a shitshow game....

>but it's not an open world game?

This, its unreal but I remember every piece of terrain in this game, its just burned in my head. Cant say that about any other open world game. Its alot of visual micromanaging that you have to do, the terrain actually has a purpose and getting over it feels good because you constantly calculate your next step. I have no idea why didnt someone think of this sooner. Just imagine how many videogames could be enhanced with this. And its a real joy to have a world like this stuck in my head, one of the few games where sense of journey and the amount of steps you take feels real, you can physically feel the journey. Im no fat ass either I like to move and this still feels new to me.

>"""""""game"""""""

It's an Indie game with a AAA budget and marketing.
This is what happens when you try to publish a really niche game to a very large public who's only real interest in games is the latest edition of (Famous Game Franchise).

>a trash gameplay
>a trash plot

Yeah.....
The worst Kojima work. Seriously.

sounds like every kojima game

- Announced as PS4 exclusive
- Kojima game so there are people who love it or hate it regardless of quality
- Unconventonial story and message, telling you to work with other players as opposed to killing them
- Slow paced, can be pretty repetitive
- Little to no information for pretty much the whole dev cycle
- Hyped up by lots of devs and people in the industry as something so good we're not ready for but ending up being a pretty simple game with a very strong positive image about personal relationships and connecting
- Critiques technology and America

I liked it

Attached: PS_Messages_20191109_214736.jpg (1920x1080, 190.71K)

The story was laughable and cringy. I really enjoy the gameplay, comfy as fuck.

Thats a great screenshot. Im still waiting for the photomode, got more?

I quite liked it indeed

Attached: PS_Messages_20191123_231400.jpg (1920x1080, 188.83K)

Garbage gameplay and nonsensical plot.
A huge disappointment

And to Continue:

This also (Unsurprisingly) has a lot to do with Kojima, the (((suits))) knew he was the only one able to make a game like this sell to a large public because of his cult following, if a random dev tried to pitch a game like this he would be shut down immediatelly.

In any case, love or hate it, i'm glad it exists, it is a really unique game that was made with passion, not to sell to the lowest common denominator on the market. Kojima himself is a really egocentric cunt, but he knew what he was doing.

>Americans are the only ones with taste.
ftfy third worlder.

Thanks man
I have so many I should actually sort out my favourite ones

An horrible trash game

The cart were underutilized during the length of the game. Literally only 2 maybe 3 times were they absolutely necessary.

Attached: PS_Messages_20191110_172343.jpg (1920x1080, 409.65K)

yeah i agree, this one is dope. where even is this? i don't recognize that decrepit structure

>An horrible trash game

Attached: 20171226_120145.png (458x456, 78.58K)

I was sold on them from the first time I saw them in the trailer
The only problem that they have is that they're a pain in the ass if you have to climb stairs or use ropes but at the same time you can always detach them, climb what you need to climb, leave your stuff there and then go back down to carry what was in the cart on your back and pick up where you left off

Attached: DEATH STRANDING™_20191122215308.png (1920x1080, 2.89M)

I'm regrets to have waste my time and money into this crap game

It's near mountain knot, there's a spot where lots of BTs will usually spawn but I don't really remember the name

Attached: DEATH STRANDING™_20191121024146.png (1920x1080, 2.76M)

>defending him
lel

Some of my favorite moments in DS are when I had to use a cart and decided to hoverboard with it through BT-areas and used it to get away from Mules

They usually resulted in me hitting a rock and toppling over, but occasionally I would land a sweet jump or come to a satisfying slide and would feel like the Tony Hawk of deliverymen

Attached: 1FA2584C-517E-471B-A2BF-A2E88C4160D5.jpg (1920x1080, 288.07K)

My biggest disappointment of the entire generation.
A really boring game

All your pic says to me is that he knows how to lead a team, which is mostly true. Except for the MGSV blunder, MGS1 through 4 were made in the span of 10 years and DS was made in a very fast 3 year and a half dev cycle, you can say what you want about the pompous cunt but he knows how to lead a team of incredibly talented people and make a vision come to fruition.

I loved the game OP, it was my GOTY

Look at the post quality of the criticisms here, the "too smart for you" meme turned out to be true.

If I wanted to be a shitty delivery boi, I'd give up my job at IT and be a shitty postman.

And if I want a good story, I'd rather play anything else besides Kojimas shitty "artsy" games

Delivery pizzaboy simulator

ninceldos plain and simple
