Some user told me it was a good RPG. The game doesn't really explain very much about anything really. More of a sandbox than I was expecting. Been playing a while, enjoying it enough I guess, just wish the quests didn't have me going to each corner of the map. Need more renown, but now that I know I need to win battles it seems every bandit is gone. When I do find some, they can run faster than I can. I do not get that mechanic at all. Thought about raiding villages, but all I can do is scream at them for their stuff, and they never have anything. Thought about taking my 80 some men to attack a castle, but didn't have the option. I just don't know what to do.

Also, on my first playthrough I was a merchant until I got 100.000 denars and a store in every single town. I also did a lot of tournaments to raise my level.
After that I started building an army of Swadian Knights and pretty much steamrolled everyone in open field.

Dont do this. Archery is a waste of time. Stack Khergit Lancers and Sarannid Marmulkes. Don't even have infantry in your warparty it's useless. Just cavalry charge all your enemies with a halbert or something like it and it's instawin for you.

You can become a mercenary or a vassal to a kingdom, which gives you the option to fight against other lords and take castles/cities and shit... but that's about it I suppose

alt and space will solve all your problems.

Protip: Focus on busting lords out of prison to build good relations.
Protip: Build Dyeworks in every city.

yes but it's inefficient, there are cheaper units better suited for it

Yup. Lancers and Marmulkes are both heavily armoured and rape.

Also just get good at killing and you can basically become a one man army. I usually let my hoard of Lancers and Marmulkes distract another hoarde and I would just rush from behind them and kill them one by one. The only tough part of sieges is at the start when you're getting shot by arrows. Once you make it over the walls it's just a matter of surviving until you or your hoarde wipes everyone out.

>Take over the faction
>Take over other factions
>Rule

This takes about 200-300 hours

There is this reddit meme that swadian knights are OP. This is a lie. Recruit rhodok tribemen and upgrade them so they can kill everyone with their x-bows. I mean you want to be a king, right? So use them to conquer towns and don't use swadian knights, they are useless.
If you want to dominate calradia just keep in mind to hold a position with your dominant rhodok troops, so they don't charge like an inferior swadian knight.
