I'm a department head at a local grocery.
We're up roughly 170% same-day profits compared to last year. We are also having to pay more workers, volunteers from the corporate office and regional staffers, to come in and help with the larger and later delivery schedules.
We're making a killing, but it's also hard to keep up. We do have a responsibility to our community, so we'll keep at it.
I wish some of these fuckers would cool it with the TP purchasing though. If you already have 5 fucking packages of it in your house, which we know because we watched you buy them a week ago, you really don't need any more. Yeah, it's limit 2 per household now, get fucked and hand those extra over.

I doubt other states will be effected as badly, if you have a minimum wage job (13 /ho) YOu most likely only make 800-1200 a month if your job allows good hours, On average monthly rent in cali is 1100-1500 unless you're renting a room with someone, so its not surprising GS employees are freaking out, they barely make enough to live let alone pay rent and utilities.

In our case, Stater Bros has one giant warehouse shared between 120+ stores, So the warehouse has to ration what they can send out and to where based on sales numbers and necessity. For example, we're making 300% over our normal margin (Outsold Fourth of july weekend records in one day at 1.2 mil last saturday for our store alone) But my store is small and quaint compared to some of the more popular city stores, So we get the short end of the stick, because 300% over 60k average still pales to the 300% over 200k average the bigger stores make.
