I like how the nook miles + stuff works. feels like a nice middle ground where it gives you that "just until I get these miles" incentive to keep playing but isn't so long that it feels like a chore to force them either.

You can cut with the stone one for just a piece of fruit though. I'm not seeing the benefit for the iron apart from going full Paul Bunyan.

You can't change some things, like where the pier is, where the river outlets are, and where the secluded beach is.

there are a few things that aren't changeable AT ALL:
placement of pier
placement of plaza
placement (and color) of airport
placement of river mouths
the beach and rocks around the beaches
the little land peninsula that juts out into the sea
the placement of the private beach

Bruh, buy those tickets off of the Nook points shop and go to mystery islands. Plenty of rocks there to farm ore. Treat em like money rocks in case you haven't already figured it out. Use the shovel as well.

That being said the only things really locked in are the island perimeter, and locations of the airport and resident services
