>they're still trying to jump in late on a fad
I hope it will kill HS and die next day. CCG are cancer.
literally and figuratively nobody asked or wanted this, wtf
Even this fucking travesty got an update before tf2shitters. The state of tf2fags
please fuck off Gaben
Did they never make a mobile version? Not having a tablet/phone version is basically suicide in the card realm. Also play star realms.
Online CCG's were just a fad. Once people realized that they progressively get worse the more they add to them, they lost interest fast. It's just the same as if someone were to bring out a new moba to compete with League or Dota in current year, just isn't going to happen.
>The last three Hearthstone players on Earth realized the game was rigged (something that takes ten minutes to realize) and stop playing, despite spending thousands
>A year later Valve releases their own Hearthstone
Yes, something that was seen as poison from day one needs a massive update. That'll fix everything.
>The last three Hearthstone players on Earth realized the game was rigged (something that takes ten minutes to realize)
Well I'm never going to play it. Redpill me
>Artichads
>praises fucking card game
I hope this isn't real.
>What are your hopes
more movie/anime streams on Twitch
I mean, it literally can only get better.
I heard they purged anyone who thought the original Artifact was a good idea from the game's team and rebuilt it from the ground up.
did you see underlords ?Nuvalve cannot produce good games.
Mobile version wouldn't have helped as long as a single game of artifact can't be finished by the time people finish a shit.
The fact that matches could drag on past the hour mark was one of the biggest reasons the game failed.
Idk man, I play duos with friends occasionally, underlords is pretty alright for what it is.
But speaking of which, have you seen the standalone game by the chinese devs after it went from Dota 2 Arcade to EGS? Because I don't think anyone has.
HS has been dying for a long time now and nobody wants to play a shitty version of HS/mtg with a dota skin slapped on it
test
>Price of axecoin spiking after this news
BUY BUY BUY
at least we know there would be no artifact 3
TF2 players arent simps who will drop $1000 on a gimmick headset or consistent microtransactions on battle passes. They just pay each other third-party and Valve gets the finger.
Wow really? Half the appeal of digital board games is they cut the time of playing a traditional game in half and often a quarter of the original time.

LONG HAUL BAYBEE
It wasn't terribly common but match duration could be absolutely grueling and generally leave you exhausted because you had to keep track of all the shit going on and constantly plan at least 1 turn ahead to consider the priority mechanic for player turns and boards themselves.
TF2 players spend thousands on fucking hats.
>shit balance
>not only is the balance shit but everything feels so sterile and boring, nothing matters except which heroes have the highest numbers for that patch
>the chink-shit is doing better, more popular and more fun than this piece of crap.
Yes but they don't pay Valve for them.
>don’t buy Valve games
>don’t play any Valve games except one released 13 years ago
>wonder why Valve doesn’t try to please you
Feels good to be an Artichad and not a Team FortSJW.
>nu-valve doesnt touch TF2
This is a good thing
I love Dota but I feel like a new IP would attract more than using the Dota IP. I love the idea of expanding the Dota IP but the truth is that it scares off more people than it attracts.
It’s possible Artifact 2 will go full crossover, but that’s not confirmed.
>but the truth is that it scares off more people than it attracts.
This right here.
No, you mass buy keys in order to trade. Big difference :^)
>virtual freemium card games??? based valve!!!
>game is such a piece of shit, we gotta make it 2
pc "gaming" as usual
>they were surprised a shovelware hearthstone clone was a flop
are they retarded lmao
nice
Basedifact!
I'll try it again if all core game play is FREE.
I'm not grinding a skinner box for fucking digital cards that will be rotated out and made unusable in the most important modes ever again.
And I won't be paying for cards on a market when you can't even trade cards in your collection with friends.
All things said, I think a marketplace was a decent idea, had they not made the client cost $20, had they allowed players to lend/trade cards with other players, and had Valve removed their cut from the market (or at least removed it for common cards), I think it might have stood a better chance.
As it was, the gameplay got stale really fast, and the market costs (along with the fucking ridiculous prices on top tier cards like Axe) didn't help in making new decks to keep it fresh.
Cosmetics, announcer packs, foil cards, etc are all fine monetization systems. But each new card set must be free. Digital card games are far too fucking greedy.
>inb4 hearthstone and mtga shills
Yeah fuck grinding for cards faggots.
>mfw bought it day one
I hope I get a god damn hat atleast
Looks like Valve is really back.
fucking lmfao i have had it with this company
well if its actually gonna be good then im all for it
Oh yes, the notorious whale grooming genre.
>core gameplay free
It's been repeated time after time, valve thinks in making money first, making a good product second.
They might make the entry cost free now that they saw that the valve sticker doesn't prevent a game from bombing hard, but they will absolutely positively milk the shit out of the cards on the marketplace. I bet the only reason it got greenlit in the first place was the fact that they will make a gorillion dollars from the card game addicts
why are people so scared of dota?
>Valve would rather spend one entire year on Artifact than spend a week on the Heavy update
How can they be this out of touch?
I hope it fucking dies so I can continue watching movies in their section of Twitch.
I don't see the issue, if they salvage it then good for them.
who here remembers /axe coin/?
also unless they removed the randomness of the game it'll probably flop again
Anyone else wishes that everyone who ever worked on Artifact, both the original and the reboot, died painfully of cancer?
I fucking hope it flops. I don't care if Artifact 2 turns out to have the best gameplay in the entire world, I want it to fucking die out of principle. I fucking hate Valve for prioritizing this game over Half-Life.
Sitting on piles of cash while doing nothing probably isn't very beneficial for creativity.
Careful about wishing for people to get cancer, remember what happened to that Biscuit guy
In this case, it's perfectly justified to wish misfortune. They're consciously working on Artifact, and for that they deserve every bit of bile they can get.
It is required that they make it F2P with card packs as the money stream or no one will bother again. It doesn't matter how much they improve or fail to improve the actual gameplay.
We shouldn't support it even if they did everything right and nothing wrong. Artifact is an abomination of a game that shouldn't exist.
>Valve would rather make a new game than update a 13-year-old unoptimized piece of shit that’s already had over a decade’s worth of updates
I wonder why.
Thanks for driving people further to supporting Artifact.
>Mr. Newell, it's the fans. They hate Artifact! They want Half Life 3!
>I see
>Release Artifact 2!
youtube.com
>cutting your nose off to spite people
Epic.
hoes mad
I'm not talking about what should happen, just what will happen. Tons and tons of F2P shovelware makes fuckloads daily, and the fact that a digital card game was charging for entry was what killed artifact the first time, not the many failings of it's gameplay.
How many more of these flops will it take for Valve to realise Dotards will just stick to Dota and everyone else will stay the fuck away from anything with the Dota name on it?
Like 2 more my man.
Nobody wants to play a Dota card game.
They should've hired someone to create a interesting world instead of continueing to milk an ancient mod.
>not even a new Half-Life game can stop triggered Half-Cucks from autistic screeching at Artifact’s glorious return
To the retarded contrarians who're shocked that the vast majority of humanity is against Artifact 2; imagine if Nintendo made Other M 2 even though everyone hates Other M, or Sega made Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 2, even though everyone hates Sonic the Hedgehog 2006.
Fucking lmao
Dota has an interesting new setting created by Valve though.
Because they are working on games that you don't approve of instead of no games?
How much of a faggot are you?
Wrong.
It sucks.
Even the retard whales who spend all their disposable income on gacha and microtransaction shit arent interested in this game. Fuck off gaben.
The point is that Valve shouldn't be working on anything Dota related at all when we want them to work on TF2.
>reboot
just stop trying
>TF2 team is working on artifact
This is your brain on nu-r/the_video_games
If it's not free to play and doesn't have a convenient way to grind for cards in-game it will crash and burn again. No amount of gameplay changes will fix it if they keep the same payment model.
>we
The point is that Paul Sheldon shouldn't be working on anything Hubcap Thief related at all when we want them to work on Misery’s Return.
Fuck you Valve. You were THIS close to redemption, then you chose to not kill off Artifact. Fuck you Valve, fuck you Gabe Newell, fuck every single of you vile assholes who actively chose to allow Artifact to continue. I hate you all and I pray you get bankrupt and Epic Games Store replace Steam forever. Here's my final request for you, which is to go fuck yourself with a cactus. Fuck you.
