Is there any reason to play the original Metroid 1 and 2 when remakes exist for both games?

Not really, unless you wanna play them for the sake of seeing them in their original state. They haven't aged very well.
The remakes are completely different games when it comes to gameplay. The original games may have aged too badly for zoomers though.
For the novelty of it maybe. Your not missing much by not playing Metroid 1. Metroid 2 is a lot more playable in my opinion. The linear design of the central part of the planet that leads to larger open areas work much better and it's a bit easier to tell where your going unlike Metroid 1 where too many places look the same. The metroid fights get really fucking tedious and are brainless as fuck though in the original and are just a "do you have enough missles to spam?" check.
Yes, they're better.
Metroid 1 is a completely different beast to Zero Mission.
took 4 fucking posts to get it right. nu-Yas Forums is real
Sure. Don't let ADHD brains fool you. These games are perfectly enjoyable if you cut yourself off from the internet and play them just for the adventure of it. I not long ago played the first ever Zelda, and made my own maps on paper as I went through. It was pretty great.
Sorry I was late, man.
don’t play SR, play AM2R if you must play a remake
