Runs like butter. Why can’t more games be this optimized?
Runs like butter. Why can’t more games be this optimized?
>empty ugly arena shooter that has literally nothing going on in the world runs good
lol
yeah...no.
You just have a shit computer
Yeah. I haven't upgraded the graphics card. It ran DOOM fine but DOOM eternal is too much..
Bull-fucking SHIT. The game is pretty damn good, but the performance is FUCKED.
That's my main gripe with the game, runs like SHIT compared to 2016
What’s your graphics card?
1070, mah nigga. And i7470
Lol, nigga time to upgrade
c'mon now
1070 and 4790k?
I should be good for a while.
>I should be good for a while.
The next consoles are 2080ti level bro
im rockin a 1060 and it works fine
somethings fucked on your end
I can run it fine with a 970. People having problems while using the 10 series are retards.
I've got a sapphire 8 gig R9 200 is that really not good enough? I think it's just the configuration. My problem is I don't know which fucking 200 clone it is to install the right goddamn driver.
What's your average fps?
I'm kinda autistic about that shit since I bought a 144 hz monitor.
It stays at about 55-90 for me, which is pretty low for what I was initially expecting.
i keep it at a solid 60
RIP my boy nature, the soundtrack is great, I like it a lot more than the dubstep influence in the 2016 release.
Plays great too.
I'm on exactly that setup and get stable 60fps med/high at 1440p.
I spent like an hour just trying to stop the screen tearing and lock the fps, then I updated my drivers and the game is running like shit.
Well shit. Doom 2016 ran from 140-200 for me.
Kinda shitty going from that high frame-rate to sub-60
>I'm on exactly that setup and get stable 60fps med/high at 1440p.
Same here, holmes. I just expected higher than that considering I got a 144hz monitor. And Wolfenstein 2/Youngblood ran far better for me than Eternal, while looking a bit better too.
So, probably worth asking now, how's 2016? Worth a buy? Was hesitant to get it after I tried the demo and it didn't captivate me, but I've got a real itch for it, and eternal looks great, but I figure I should get 2016 first.
>mfw the game runs fine on an old 1050 & i5
Define "runs fine"
>update your drivers
>no!
It's possible there'll be another set of drivers released at some point today/tomorrow, or an optimization patch.
Or you could try using the denuvoless crack, that did let me put everything to high.
constant 60 fps with drops only during cutscenes at high settings, but that's my fault for having a shit pc
Honestly I'll probably try the crack out if the new drivers don't do much.
But if I'm not mistaken I remember Doom 2016 releasing Vulkan after a while, and it improved the performance alot.
That, and there is no option for anti-aliasing in Doom Eternal for some reason, and I have a feeling that the pre-set setting is fucking everyone's performance.
I can run it at 1080p on high fine, getting +120fps, but for some reason it locks up after ~10 minutes, and when I checked task manager to try and close it, it said it was very high energy consumption. Guess I'm running it at 720p cause 900p fucks up the aspect ratio for some reason.
It makes no sense. Doom ran on vulkan, that gives me no problem but Doom Eternal just doesn't get it.
Very possible. I think denuvo is seriously fucking it. It really reminds me of rage 2, in a way that's too similar to be coincidence. I think someone who put together the install pack said "holy shit this ruins the game" and left that shit in there, because rage 2 was EXACTLY the same, the denuvo version sliced fps in nearly half for a bunch of people, and had loads of stuttering introduced.
Shit, Rage 2 ran great for me and I pirated that shit lol.
So Denuvo could very well be what is fucking performance.
its pretty nice. best game of 2016
>pirated doom 2016, runs amazingly
>decide to buy Eternal, why not
>is running like complete ass, frames going between 30-100 constantly with no explanation, even on the lowest settings possible, v-sync doesn't solve the problem at all
I am actually refunding this holy shit I've been here for like two hours just trying to get this shit to run right.
Yeah, my point is that the exact same "woops we left this directory with a denuvo-free exe! Only on bethesda launcher :^)" happened with rage 2 and doom eternal. I don't think denuvo is to blame for everything but I'd bet between it and new drivers there'll probably be a marked improvement in performance in a week or so. Especially if they just forego denuvo since not a fucking soul is going to use it.
Gonna wait for some performance vids to come out over the next few days to see how well the cracked copy runs compared to the denuvo one.
Still gonna play my legit copy until completion though, even though it runs like fuckin dog-shit, the game is still pretty damn good so far.
im running a 2700x and a 1070ti and i'm getting between 120 and 130 on ultra...
Prove it
I'm not saying to pirate it (and I don't know if them leaving the denuvo-free EXE in the legitimately purchased bethesdanet version can really even be called piracy) just that yeah, it helped me out some. Glad you're liking it though, so am I. The fucking hookshot on the shotgun is fantastically silly.
Indeed. People shat on the platforming too but I'm surprisingly enjoying it all. The whole game seems like an actual "game" compared to most shit we've been getting recently.
Can't even think of a single notable FPS besides this since the 2016 version
> why doesn't this new game run with the same drivers as its four year old predecessor?
Would I be able to run this shit @ mid with a gtx970?
>I haven't upgraded the graphics card. It ran DOOM fine but DOOM eternal is too much..
State of Yas Forums at 2020...
I don't know if I'd go that far, for all the shit they get, the call of duty games do a wonderful job at being serviceable FPS. They're not the sort of arcade-y stuff you get from doom but they're still fun in their own way.
The platforming is the one thing I honestly don't care for, frankly, it feels very afterthought. The weird jump packs that remind me of some mattmakesgames monstrosity like an untitled story or whatever, and more importantly than that, some of the platforming/wallhug layouts are DIRECTLY stolen from SEUM. I bet if you went overhead they layouts would match up 1:1 because my muscle memory took over and I just flew through them. Maybe that's just me being petty though, whatever.
970 is in the recommended side of things, assuming it's a 4gb card. It says high 1080p60.
Looks like butter too.
DMCV ran better while also looking superior.
Ehhh I think it's a nice change of pace, and a good improvement on the piss-easy jump sections from 2016.
And it's far better than just walking in between combat sections.
>the call of duty games do a wonderful job at being serviceable FPS
Serviceable, yes. Enjoyable, no.
LMAO I have a 1070 with an i5, never dropped below 120 fps
You're lying. Post proof.
DMC5 looks like a piece of bland, uninspired garbage. Both tech and art direction wise. Poorest looking game of this generation.
You have no idea what you are talking about, retard.
So it runs well, 144hz?
Should I get this game?
what
How will it fare on the switch port?
What?
Nu-Doom looks bad, it uses same tech as previous doom did, but it is even older now, plus it was outsourced to chinks, so art direction went to shit too.
In the end, doom 2020 looks worse than doom 2016.
Like stinky ass horse-manure, just like every Nintendo game
Runs well on my machine.
Gameplay-wise it's 2016 with more mechanics and more diverse environments.
> outsourced to chinks
proof?
Probably about as well as 2016, maybe slightly worse.
For me it was a CPU issue. A 1070 shouldn't have issues. There's a fix in the Steam forums, you have to change launch options.
first two levels felt like shit for me but after that its been alright except for massively open areas like the europe city
Damn, I'll check it out. Thanks for the info homie
Eternal got rid of megatextures though
Because few games have that sort of budget and technical expertise available.
Don't you have eyes?
It's like watching Pacific Rim 2 after Pacific Rim.
Their shift to insectoid audiences is so obvious, the palette, the lack of integrity in the visuals which turns game into random mesh of colors, cartoonish monster designs, goofy animations, degraded gameplay and movement mechanics interrupted by "press x to execute", which turned into snappy twitchy vomit.
Everything screams that this game was given to some cheap studio with doom 2016 as a reference.
Just tried it out with Steam Overlay off, runs a fuck load better.
Classic Valve fucking over games they didn't even develop.
