Must've made this thread when the underages are awake
Still have yet to play DXM. Is it worth the 60$?
God no
Gess I'll ask this here as well
Are there mecha games with a similar vibe to Eva? They don't have to be based on the anime, since I know most of those ones are mediocre. What I mean is two things:
1. You get to fight weird kaijuu instead of other mecha.
2. A general surreal, weird, conspiracy vibe to the whole plot
So basically Eva but not the aspect of it with crying kids, but the aspect of eldritch lore and illuminati.
Is it worth a pirate at least?
PGI
Yeah but that's it
It's just shallow AC, like really shallow
WHERE THE FUCK IS 3RD OG
GIVE ME MY W IN OG YOU LAZY FUCKS
STOP SHILLING YOUR MOBILE GAMES
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
You could go classic kaijuu and play godzilla games.
A lot of Super Robot Wars games cover shit like that, especially the OGverse ones. The problem you'll have is the mainline games are a mashup of various mecha anime, and the OG ones are a mashup of all the original story stuff they add to the mainline games to mesh them together, so it can get very convoluted very fast. If anything, you can at least satisfy yourself with looking at some of the weird eldritch enemy attacks.

nier automata?
Euzeth pls go
Anyone play pic related? Was one of my favorite xbox games. later I realized it was also on pc.
It felt like you were a super unit in a RTS game.
Xenogears my man
>Evangelion meets G-Gundam: the jRPG
Titanfall 3 when?
never ever...
does gundam hold up?
G Gundam? It's still the campy, kung-fu anime it always was. OG? Animation is jank but the action choreography makes up for it and it's still one of the best entries in the franchise.
Based shitposter
This game is literally just Eva.
Any specific ones you recommend?
Always seemed like a franchise that's hard to get into. Though I have seen most of the classic mecha (OG gundam, votoms, macross, escaflowne, patlabor, gainax, go nagai stuff, getter, eureka seven etc) anime so the entry barrier maybe wouldn't be that big. Any place to start?
Played that.
Good idea actually, completely thought that game exists. On top of all the similarities I mentioned from what I know it's also similar to Eva in having a weird, arthouse/low-budget ending.
A shame this game didn't live up to expectations.
The designs were cool and I liked the gameplay.
I didn't have it during launch but why did it die so fast?
Friendly reminder that if mechs are not taken advantage of as a concept in gameplay, then it's just a surface-level aesthetic, and most properties have trash aesthetics
Oh god fuck off
You don't play these games and you don't watch the genre
Earth defense Force
SCRATCH ONE
DOWN IN FLAMES
How did the HD remaster turn out?
It's awesome
Zone of Enders if you exclude your first point. Mecha design is kinda similiar and it's a Kojima game = pretentious overload.
>kojima
>zoe
Fucking hell kojimatards are braindead
I miss games with wingmates that weren't shit. Bomberbro cleared rows of tanks as long as you kept flyers off him.
>Any specific ones you recommend?
Save the Earth and Destroy all Monsters were pretty fun back in the day.
Wish I was as good of a pilot as Ziniada bros....
The dream bros...
But Jack-O was a bro mostly
I sort of get where you're coming from. My heart sinks when I boot up steam and search "mecha" and get rpg, 2d platformer, rpg, rts game, rpg, shmup, rpg.
You can really just skin those as anything most of the time.
It's okay to have shit taste user
Acceptance is the first step to recovery
Sorry I don't spend as much time as reading the credits as you do. I actually play the games, not read about them.
It's true though, he doesn't
These people crop up in these threads a lot and it's obvious they don't watch mecha, or are extremely ignorant and think fucking VOTOMS is a realistic gritty war mecha and TTGL is good
With that pedigree of knowledge you'd do fine with any of the translated games to be honest. I suggest starting with either the GBA OG games if you'd like to dive straight in with OG, or if you want to get a feel for the series first J has a full fan translation and is a great starting point. W is also a great entry point although it's not translated so you might want to try one of the other games before you play that one, to get a feel for the systems. The more recent games are fully translated officially so you could start out with those too, start at V if you want to play those, obviously those ones are much prettier than the old GBA games. I think you'd enjoy SRW, especially since if you like Mazin/Getter stuff, they get a lot of love alongside the obvious Gundam stuff:

How do you even know what pretentious means if you can't read you dumb nigger
And it's not even impossible to make it work, the not-megazord fights from chroma squad come to mind, even though that game overall was kind of shit
It's just laziness
If you say so
I played it and it was pretty cool. But I don't really see much relation between any of the points. There's politics but it isn't hidden in a conspiracy-kind of way.
Ok what are your thoughts on Eldran and Yuusha?
Not him, but for me, it's Saint of Braves, BaanGaan.

I read books and shitposts, not manuals and credits. You, on the other hand, seem to lack reading comprehension.
Don't have many, why do you ask?
1. it;s a mech game
2. it;s a mech game
it makes boggles the mind people want mech games but dont play them. hawken. override, code mecha. mech games of diffrent types and people dont play them. i guess thats why bandai isnt giving us that much gundam in the west.
Thanks for confirming you know nothing of the genre
Its dead jim
Yeah, I guess not
Yet you still can't prove me wrong or even attempt to explain what makes your autistic visual fixation more important than gameplay or mechanics
(You) are in a thread for a genre you know nothing about and don't like
I FUCKING LOVE VOTOMS
I still don't buy into this "it's the fans fault mecha is dead". I'm out there, scanning for this stuff, and every time a new game is announced it's either garbage, or it's a dead on arrival multiplayer only game. Unless you're just the bandai employee with the fucking throbbing giga-brain repeatedly making the decision to bring over titles like Gundam Target in Sight, VS Forces or New Gundam Breaker on steam as the market testers.
But I do like it, you're just insistent that your specific variety is better than all others purely on the basis of colorful toy designs, even when quality and effort are lacking
