Uh doombros? I thought nobody cares about Half life and VR???
Half-Life: Alyx on track to be the biggest launch on Steam in 2020
well doom flopped
It's going to beat Temtem, Chim Chum and already released games?
Holy smokes
Doom is available on consoles. Also games always sells more on consoles
>that retarded DOOM chart that maxed out at 2 million as if that was anything remotely impressive
Lmao
People are jumping ship to the new reality now that this one is fucked.
it's gonna be so good, no hate to the doombros though.
I MEANT DOOMPOSTERBROS NOT DOOMETERNAL BROS IM SORRY!!
>less than 1% of steam population has VR
>biggest launch
>Monday launch on Monday
>a literally who twitter screencap thread
Nobody with a brain at least. Anyone still using Steam in 2020 does not qualify for that.
>Caring how many people buy a game, as long as you enjoy it, and the devs keep making more
Woah, HL managed to beat TheyThem the tranny game, Woncel the 56% positive reviews game, and two Epic exclusives. Truly a GOTY you guys!!!
I bet Cyberpunk will easily outsell this garbage months before release, 300K copies my ass.
>launch
>on steam
>in 2020
It's only available on Steam, and it's got a pretty solid amount of pre-orders. Of course it'll be a big [launch] [on Steam] [in 2020].
>he's not VR ready to participate in the HL Alyx launch day and become a part of video game history
umm.. cringe?
Some guy bought my 6GB 1060 today for it.
He bought a vive in my area too, I hope he enjoys it.
>biggest launch on Steam in 2020
literal bullshit not that many have headsets
It's likely too soon to tell how well it will do compared to Doom, since that just came out. Otherwise, there's a fair chance it would have been mentioned.
>source: my ass
wheres yours then
playtracker.net
Thank you. Came here to post this.
How can they track owners when Steam disallows it?
Quest can run PC games now and the Rift S is pretty cheap, VR is more popular than Yas Forumstards think, still niche but has potential, for sure more than 3D
But Yas Forums told me that no one owns a vr headset and it would be a flop??? Was it all a ruse???
wow steam really is dying, isn't it?
My oculus go just arrived, any recs before I play Alyx?
>BIGGER THAN 1 YEARS OLD EPIC GAMES LIKE BORDERLANDS 3 AND METRO
OHNONONONONOAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA OHNONONONONOAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA REST IN PISS STEAM REST IN PISS VALVE
That's the power of exclusives.
>beating tem tem
>wulcin
WOW WHAT STANDARDS OF SMALL INDIE VALVE
>CS and Portal are PC exclusives
Valve is like a big indie studio unironically.
They have the work ethics of a company on Patreon too.
Who the fuck plays CS on console
It's still impressive given that it's a VR only game and is bringing VR into the main stream in a big way
haha VR haters BTFO
It's still very active
And I'm sure there are still active starcraft N64 tournaments as well
>
>In the mainstream
>Unironically believes it
Ya by having a shit ton of people watching it on youtube.
>I thought nobody cares about Half life and VR???
Nigger the rush when the Index went back in stock was so bad it went on backorder in seconds and annihilated Valve's payment services for hours, and that was just a fucking restock, not a release, it's been on the market since last summer. Now consider the fact this is just one headset of many, and just about every VR owner is going to order HL:A because it's the first AAA release for VR.
Doom was a great game and people were definitely hyped for the sequel, but it ain't got shit on HL.
Well put
>Believing playtracker
LMAO
I got my DK1 and 360 controller ready to go!
>Monday launch on Monday
Can we really be sure?
They have less numbers than most game devs, and they also take care of Steam and hardware (both offer questionable support). Part of the reason they've been so silent over the years is probably because standards for scope of games have changed over the years, and UE4/Unity also offer a lot. If other launchers weren't hot trash, they'd be in trouble.
VR is probably their only chance to make a full game that doesn't feel and look outdated right from the get-go. VR allows them to move back in time by 20-30 years, where they are more comfortable.
you think that fat fuck gaben would spend his money on a personal trainer the fucking parade float mother fucker
Spoke to a lot of people in tf2 and what not they shown no excitement or care for half life alyx except for elitists, but when I mention doom eternal I am surprised they even pre order the game.
So with that said.
>Believing playtracker.
>10% of the total US population bought Half-Life: Alyx
>I know how to disguise my hatred and seething for doom by disguising as blind praise for half life alyx that 8, oneangrygamer, julayworld, rpgcodex all hate YA THAT WILL SHOW THEM
>FUCK DOOM am I rite?
Keep coping.
There's only 3 million americans left? Thoughts and prayers. Corona did a number on you guys.
I do. Shit like Zoom makes me yawn ever since I tried VR. I like Quake, but not this Skittles-colored crap. It's repetitive and the enemies are boring.
HLA just generates better and better news every day.
Ah yes nothing better than a head crab that get's Nerf pretty badly compared to it's predecessors nah man only chumps buy it because of it's novelty alone.
Didn't pokemon sword and shield sell 6 million in a week?
300k is more than debut of Persona 5 Royal
And let's see if pokemon sword and shield destroyed Alyx figures
At 1.3m in Japan alone pokemon sword and shield destroyed Half-life Alyx debut numbers 4 to 1 effectively.
If 300k gets you the fastest selling steam game this year then steam ain't what it was during the peak of steam now.
And why Indies are jumping over to the Eshop to sell more than what it is in steams hell hole
Because when comparing gimmicks obviously the switch is much more appealing.
Vr is simply bound to fail.
>all these naysayers still believing vr will flop
God it’s fucking poor in this thread.
>Because when comparing gimmicks obviously the switch is much more appealing.
>Vr is simply bound to fail.
Did the Half-life fanbase revolt or something?
Or was VR one gimmick too far?
I'm actually curious as to why Valve thought this would go down smoothly and not just happen like it is?
I really don't think this game will have many launch sales.
Everyone interested in it either gut it for free as part of the Index deal or already pre-ordered it.
>God it’s fucking poor in this thread.
Call me back when people are conformable to wear a big contraption on their head.
>pre-ordering
What is it with people not being able to wait for reviews?
>300k
Pretty solid for a VR, desu.
It's been going pretty strong for 6 years now.
But feel free to join the ranks of the "nintendo is doomed, they will fail any year now" retards.
Too bad for gabe I was gonna get a index but theyre backed up for 8 weeks which is much past the release date so I aint bothering.
The sales speak for themselves, barely above persona 5 Royal
Steam is a hell hole now so 300k sales is seen as best-selling.
>comparing the market for VR to the market for literally the most popular franchise on earth
Are you okay?
Wasn't halo sold 2 million to 5 million+ on steam?
Anyone who bought the index HMD or controllers, even separately, got a copy for free.
>comparing a game released on switch to a game that also needs VR hardware in order to run
Are you retarded, you pedophile?
Reading comprehension is hard, I know, but that tweet is merely saying that it 'could' be best-selling based on the 300k pre-orders.
>>comparing the market for VR to the market for literally the most popular franchise on earth
>>Are you okay?
>Comparing steam the largest market in the world to the sales of a Nintendo hybrid console
I should be the one asking you that.
If VR is the only excuse as to why Half-life Alyx is selling poorly on the largest platform holder market place then it is clear that something went horrifically wrong.
Where are the legions of diehard Half-life fans? Is Steam now becoming a graveyard or something?
Then they already have the game.
>Monday launch on Monday
Gee, I wonder when will this game actually launch?
And others will buy it after release, as with most games. Literally Who on twitter thinks it will be many times more.
>Where are the legions of diehard Half-life fans?
Right here pissed off and rightly so the ones defending this game that want to defend their purchase of vr are hyping this game up that isn't anything like the predecessor that came before it and the amount of sacrifice valve made just to make the game accessible for everyone, simply because they fell for the
>Tech demos
Which at this point forgot unreal tournament came before them.
Anyone defending it are probably elitists.
supposedly there'll be a monday launch on monday but don't take my word for it
