Why did people forget about it so quickly?
Why did people forget about it so quickly?
It was a good game but did nothing extraordinary. It's gimmick mechanic wasn't as gimmicky as the trailers would lead to believe, and so nothing about the game really stands out. But like I said, it's still fun.
Not on consoles
Artstyle doesn’t fit with normie taste
It was okay but the mission structure, gameplay, annoying red missions and poor ranking system make it not very replayable and that's a must for these games. I can replay DMC5 every day for a week or grind pure plats in bayo1/2 for a month but it's hard mustering anything for this game. Plus it being Switch exclusive where no action games from Platinum have done very well doesn't help
It sold over a million though.
I'm excited for the eventual sequel. I'd like to see something where you go on to fight the Astral Plane in other parts of the world.
It sold well enough and better than Wiiu Bayo2/TW101 afaik but it couldn't compete with other action games at the time and it failed to land in the community of action fans
I'd like to play it but I don't own a Switch. Was this another funded by Nintendo game that will never get a port to decent hardware?
it got boring after a while. That said it did kept me entertained while I waited for dxm to be on sale.
Switch exclusive so no one played it.
There's just not much to talk about
It was on switch
I would have bought it if it wasn't only on switch.
because it sucked ass with shitty missions and awful platforming. the only thing good about it is the cute female MC and the platinum combat.
It's a 20 hours long single player game. People didn't "forget" about it they fucking played it and moved on with their lives. Not every game needs to be the next fucking Smash Bros with 10 threads plaguing Yas Forums 24/7 for decades, retard.
>it couldn't compete with other action games at the time
>it failed to land in the community of action fans
Some of you really live in an alternate reality.
>UNKWON
Search for Combo MADs or CMVs or threads with webms or vstyle tournament stuff, it hardly exists for this game. It made some waves on release, had some interest and died out. Not every action game is consistently flooded with stuff, but AC died fast and is largely forgotten or ignored. The most I can find for mads or cmvs is 2-3 guys on youtube with low amounts of views
Of course people would forget about such a tiny ass booty. Nigga dafuq?
>Search for Combo MADs or CMVs or threads with webms or vstyle tournament stuff, it hardly exists for this game.
Of course it doesn't, it's not the same kind of game. You "curazy" combo autists aren't the only persons in the the community.
By your definiton Ninja Gaiden Black didn't had an impact either.
Just started this game today, what's the proper way to be using my Legion?
It just auto-attacks so far do I get more gimmicks later?
bland artstyle
cringe dialogue
Ninja Gaiden has tons of videos beyond just MADs or CMVs. It has dozens upon dozens vstyle entries just for that, but it mostly has MN clears, no damage missions, no damage bosses, webms of cool encounters, etc. And I'm not just talking about the cuhrayzee community, I mean at large. This game is hardly discussed and barely made any movement. No one really cares and the game isn't well designed around replayability
It opens up a lot more over time. You'll eventually have entire movesets for each Legion and the player character. Each Legion is suited to different tasks. Things like Beast giving you some breathing room, or Sword's slow-mo counters.
Be sure to upgrade your X-Baton, at least until you have all of its moves available.
We have threads about this game every day, stop creating threads like this you fucking cunts
I love this sexy babe.
>No you see there's tons, that's why I'll take other videos into account and move the goalpost!
And Astral Chain was talked about, and still is, even by people that are not familiar with the genre, because it did something else. It's not discussed as much as some other games because of many factors, and who cares? You need to have a thread a day spamming fanarts and the same webm over and over to care about a game?
You talk about things like combo videos and replayability because you can only judge this game on your own arbitrary metrics, that's literal autism mate.
Ever look at a character and just know theyre the bad guy? That's how I felt about the director. One look and my first thought was "Xeonhart is gunna fuse good and evil to obtain the keyblade and become god here isnt he"
Or maybe ive become accustomed to these backstabbing cliche so much that I'm more surprised when it is straightforward and nontwist ending
Not enough lewds
>the only thing good about it is the cute female MC and the platinum combat.
Even the combat felt lackluster. This was probably the most disappointing game of the year for me. I fucking loved Bayo and Rising. and then we get ... this? The non-action cop segments dragged so hard I had to drop it. The combat was so shallow it didn't make up for everything else.
>You talk about things like combo videos and replayability because you can only judge this game on your own arbitrary metrics, that's literal autism mate.
Because that's what makes the action game genre good. Replayability, harder diificulties, post-game unlocks, early levels with later weapons. Every DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Vanquish, God Hand, even Musous and other shit are all about playing the game a ton and getting good at each part, the player doesn't have to do that but its a big part of the genre and why many stick around and it's all stuff AC doesn't do. Literally why it isn't talked about, it gets nods for Marie and being different but that's it, no one is desperate for S+ rank runs and that's not a good sign
Like I said, literal autism. Even a game like DMC5 that sold millions and got excellent reviews, had most of its players didn't even bother with a second playthrough.
But continue living in your bizarro dimension where everyone thinks the same as you, as long as I don't have to read anymore of your cringe inducing posts.
Being a Nintendo game made many get butthurted by it
Nintendo posts its financial results every January, it sold over a million copies, Code Vein was celebrating that a month ago
It is a Nintendo game
>Playing a game more than once is autsim and cringe
Oh boy, better not replay my games ever, no need to have mechanical depth and repeatability in any genre, that's cringe and a bizarro world because I just consoom.
The autism I'm talking about comes from the fact of not aknowledging action games have other interests than aiming for a SSS or a Platinum trophy.
I don't care how you play those games, I played all the games listed above and 100% most of them. The difference here is I can see why Astral Chain can have its fans or can have an interest because I am not judging games by my own metric.
I don't have a switch. Do all you anons have switches or something?
What are idea's for the sequel?
It's a Nintendo IP even. Akira in Smash when?
How else are we supposed to be playing the game?
Other types of companions, new ways to investigate using Iris, more customization.
Unlikely to be playable : the characters were decided a while ago....I'd love to see them in the pass though, but Ring Fit spirits kinda makes it unlikely.
as someone who bought it, i must be honest
it's a little too hard
because it was kind of annoying to play
and the since it was on switch, the graphics weren't so good
>little kid wants ice cream
>be a good cop and buy the largest cone for her
>surprise motion controls make you drop it
>buy ice cream
>start crossing the street only for the light to turn green in the middle of the street and start losing points, proceed to drop the ice cream
>buy ice cream and cross the street on time
>some faggot walking on circles crashes into you
>buy ice cream and avoid the retard
>start walking up the stairs and some asshole runs and crashes into you
>buy ice cream and notice that people are always going up on one side and going down on the other, choose the one for people going up
>the same asshole appears again and crashes into you again
>buy ice cream and walk up the stairs this time moving out of his way as soon as he appears
>the imbecile changes direction just to crash into you
>buy ice cream and decide to avoid him at the last second
>it works
>give the ice cream to the girl
>get nothing for it
Combat becomes more manageable as you unlock more Legions. They wanted the first couple levels to be the tutorial, but the problem is that playing with the bare minimum in terms of Legions, weapons, and moves is fucking miserable.
There was a large burst in discussion and threads when the W101 port was announced as multiplatform. People thought the floodgates for Platinum exclusives on Nintendo platforms were all and that they'd soon get a port of it just like W101. But after enough times of being told how much of a success it was for Nintendo - especially compared to W101 - those who wanted it ported eventually resigned themselves to the dreary reality that Astral Chain would not be leaving the Switch anytime soon. Thus the lack of discussion at the present time.
I bought both of them and holy shit what a disappointment DxM was. Couldn't even will myself to play more than 10 hours. Everything is the fucking same.
>Replayability, harder diificulties, post-game unlocks, early levels with later weapons.
AC has all of those, though.
because it's actually good
What are you having difficulties with, m8?
I played it, enjoyed it, and look back on the memory fondly, still occasionally listening to Saviour or Dark Hero (male) when the moment strikes.
Just because people don't talk about it doesn't mean it's been forgotten.
Also nice to play a game where you play as a cop instead of a criminal or soldier. I liked lots of the little side-quests and idea of "going on patrol" being a good framing device for plot to happen.
