The aesthetic is fucked, the weird cheesy classic pickups clash horribly with the environment. They tried way too hard to appeal to notalgia but ended up just making the game ugly.

Yea, I'm mission two I have like 6 abilities and i dont use any of them besides the flamethrower and that's just for armor when I need it more than damage. I fucking pray that the sword is a melee replacement and theres more glory kills with it

Even with eventual upgrades, you're still starting from a deficit. Add the fact that you need to waste ammo on the chaff zombies instead of beating them to death, and it's less ammo overall.

Like, 2016 didn't just start you at argent tower, it gave the setting a little bit of time to breathe first. Now i'm fighting hell priests and talking to a can maker, and I feel completely lost.

I was ok with the "chosen one" cliche in 2016 because at least it made sense if you took the timeline theory to be true, but this is a little ridiculous. Didn't Earth already get invaded by Hell? They didn't see Doomguy as some superhero then, did they?
