It's not like he has much competition. OoT Link has minimal emoting, TP Link is all stoic all the time, SS Link doesn't really have much going on besides being sleepy, and BOTW Link is ultra-stoic in cutscenes and a goofy underpants weirdo who hits on everybody in gameplay. WW Link gives you enough of an impression about his personality when he's not saving the world or even while he is to make it obvious that he's stepping up when the time comes.

What makes WW Link stand out besides his personality is that he's one of the few Links who doesn't have any sort of grand destiny attached to him. Most of the other Links only even show up for the adventure because somebody tells them that they're supposed to be there, or they're like TP Link and lucked out after they went charging in. WW Link is just some dumb kid in a green outfit who went chasing after his kidnapped sister and had to make it work himself.
Ironically I think that makes him closest to the original Link who just happened to be passing by when he met Impa and didn't get his destiny pot until Zelda 2 added the Triforce of Courage into the series.
