RESIDENT EVIL 3

Just got done with the demo. Why the fuck was the zombie gore downgraded? Why is there an overabundance of ammo? Why are there so many explosions?

Not buying this day one.

Jesus Christ. So much went wrong with this game. I'm starting to think that Michael might be right. I loved REmake 2 but not sure about this.

lmao what the fuck

So we can pretty much all agree that this is the TORtanic of 2020, right?

>Why the fuck was the zombie gore downgraded?
It wasn't.
>Why is there an overabundance of ammo?
Just like RE3.
>Why are there so many explosions?
Just like RE3.

>gore
pretty sure the demo is based on the jap version, which has almost no gore. Could be wrong though since it still had exploding heads

Its not like you can beat the game by running around that table.

you can't cut zombies legs, hand, body etc after they died and the damage to their bodies seemed downgraded too

Lmao anons were saying the same shit when the RE2 demo came out

>zombie gore downgraded
really? how so? didn't notice while playing cause i was only doing headshots with the overpowered dodge

You 100% can cut off legs and arms. Not sure about bisecting them at the waist, though. I didn't try given it's not a practical thing to do. I should test it later for the sake of it.

Don't even bother replying, it's the same shit they shitposted with for like 3 months when RE2 was revealed where they ran around the bench with Mr. X for a minute.

>removed ragdoll physics
>dismemberment has been downgraded
>zombies dont collide with eachother anymore
>removed limbs remaining, skin pealing, muscle falling off
>cant chop up downed zombies
>Zombies can't be cut in half with shotgun anymore

tbqh I fucking hate the increased focus on action. Also don't like Jill being a cunt but incel etc. etc.

Actually think I may wait for this one to go on sale...

he said after they died

also leg just evaporates, unlike RE2 where it stays

why do the torn off limbs just disappear?

THIS MOUSE ACCELERATION IS DRIVING ME NUTS

RE2's demo easily showed how excellent the game is. But RE3's demo pointed out a number of flaws. It's like they took one step forward but two steps back. Was this made by Capcom's B-team?

>Why the fuck was the zombie gore downgraded?
Maybe the demo is the same low gore edition they have in Japan?

I mean, it's obvious that their greedy asses would just quickly shit out a low effort RE3 remake after the success of the RE2 one

>zombie gore downgrad
Haven't tried it. Would be a bummer if true.
>overabundance of ammo
Because it's RE3.
>Why are there so many explosions?
You mean the barrels? Yeah, seems cheap.

Overall it feels like a DLC to REmake 2. Nothing special but worth a playthrough. Will probably wait for a sale with a good discount.

How does that corporate cock taste like?

>Limb disappears completely

Also the knife doesn't have the same feel anymore? It feels underpowered. And why can't you use a sub-weapon to throw off an enemy after they grab you?

Attached: nigga.jpg (250x201, 6.39K)

probably fucked up the memory management

Jill looks better in pic related then in-game

I like the eyes

>Will probably wait for a sale with a good discount.
Same. Goddamn I just wish they would have improved upon the masterpiece that they had as a foundation instead of cutting corners like this with lazy game design. The game feels rushed. It's obvious they needed like 6-12 month to iron some kinks out. This could have been the best RE game to date. But I personally feel that title still belongs to REmake 2.

this thread brought to you by federal ammunition

>It feels underpowered.
Because it 1 hit zombies if you get a perfect dodge knife swing
>And why can't you use a sub-weapon to throw off an enemy after they grab you?
Because now you can dodge.

Anyone here benchmarked DX11 and 12?

>Also the knife doesn't have the same feel anymore? It feels underpowered. And why can't you use a sub-weapon to throw off an enemy after they grab you?
Game balance. Your dodge is now your escape card, and since the knife is infinite now they nerfed the damage and the ability to use it for a free escape. The dodge is much better than the self defense items anyway. It ups your chance for criticals.

Nice

Literally the same thing happened with Mr.X in remake 2

It doesnt one hit them. It just does more damage.

Yas Forums can't remember shit like that

>Why the fuck was the zombie gore downgraded?
because there needs to be more zombies on the screen and current gen likely can't render more detailed zombies, ironically the original re3 had the same "problem" at the time
>Why is there an overabundance of ammo?
because it's more action oriented and the knife sucks dick
>Why are there so many explosions?
because it's more action oriented and even back then you used red ballers to blow up hordes

>why is it more action oriented?
because kamiya is a hack, he made re2 more action, it sold more than RE1 so they doubled up for RE3, and that lead to RE4, which lead to RE5 and 6, so we are going in fucking circles here, expect the remake of RE4 to be an exact copy with more graphix, then capcom will be in a fucking rut again

Hot

Did you also hate the increased focus on action in original RE3?

>a single grenade completely removes nemesis from the equation
OH MY GOD I'M SO SCARED

Was I retarded as a kid or did I never notice that RE3 was supposedly "action oriented".

The dodge move was so finicky I don't know anyone that mastered it at the time. Can't judge the game just because autistic speedrunners have broken it beyond belief 20 years later.

>Because it 1 hit zombies if you get a perfect dodge knife swing
Is this true? How do I do this?

this is my fetish

Nvm it's not. I just checked myself and it didn't one shot it.
Still did a lot of damage though.

I don't think they're gonna do a remake of 4.

You have to master the dodge so you get the bullet time effect

It's not always a one hit. I tried it out on some zombies and it still took like 4 slashes to kill one. Do a perfect dodge and aim/stab with your knife during the animation and jill will do a slash attack that does higher damage.

The dodge was supposed to be a cool rare extra, if you pushed the button right as the enemy was practically in your face, and shooting them would look silly at that distance.
It was never meant to be mastered, that's why there was no dedicated dodge button. They wanted you to still feel vulnerable

A true RE fan would be able to tell that this right here is the superior game.

Attached: REmake 2.jpg (1920x1080, 435.39K)

I didn't play the REmake2 demo, did Elliot get cut in half in it? I know that was censored in Japan for the full game

The original RE2 was already superior to the original RE3 so it's no surprise that the pattern holds true.

consoles

>Ruined the story and characters of RE2
>Lame ass Mr. X
>Too lazy to do a proper B Scenario
REmake3 has the better chance of better because there's less shit for them to fuck up

>i-it's j-just a demo!
Just stop dude. Pic related. Shit was in RE2's demo.

>The original RE2 was already superior to the original RE3 so it's no surprise that the pattern holds true.
Yeah I too loved replaying the exact same short game with a few minor variances four times in a row.

> removed Crows, Spiders and Moths
> the Ivy enemies are now just reskinned viny zombies
> shitty Alligator fight, not much of improvement from the original
> scenarios played together don't make sense
> shitty "what if" DLC instead of expanding the lore
> the lack of static Cameras makes the game lose its artistic shots
> game gives you items in bossfights cause they know zoomers will fuck up and go waaah
> bosses in way too crammed arenas
> boring Ada and Sherry gameplay
> music muffled down and crappy remixes

Yeah but everyone seems to be misremembering that fact. Most people act like speedrunners that have mastered the game during the last 20 years represents the average fresh RE3 player and it's therefore "action-oriented" because "dude dodge and assault rifle lmao"

Just from this current demo. They already fucked up a lot of shit though.

I have no idea what everyone's talking about with the gore being gone. It seems exactly the same to me as RE2. Dismemberment, exploding heads, it seems the same. What am I missing?

I like what I saw from the demo, EXCEPT Nemesis' weird air-teleport. Maybe it's just for the demo -- well, I hope it is, because it looks stupid.

The story of any Resident Evil is a laughable b movie story at best and the characters of the original were cardboard thin. Agreed about Mr. X though. Getting chased by Dolph Lundgren with a fedora wasn't exactly spooky.

Where is the supposed "improved AI" for Nemesis that they were going on about? I mean this is supposed to be the real stalker enemy.

> noclip

i fucking hate getting grabbed

Attached: 20200319233017_1.jpg (1600x900, 61.73K)

you don't need to defend Mr.X he's not real

RE3 had you constantly running through new areas while 1 and 2 had hub areas. Then you had mercenaries mini game and a constant threat in Nemesis, faster zombies and more bosses. 3 was definitely more actiony especially if you go and play classic 2 and 3 back to back

couldn't they have him jump to the closest building instead?

I've played the demo 3 times now and each time I get the same bug.

I make my way back to the room with the safe but the zombie in that room is blocking the door and CANNOT break it open. I tried luring him out but he won't leave that room.

>Ivy reskin autism

>he's not real
He is and he can still kick your ass.

Attached: npfz5gwo75c21.png (1238x597, 1.02M)

it's not a bug. if you try to go back that way after grabbing the hose it will be blocked. you have to trigger the Nemesis cutscene by exiting Moon's Donuts.

>The dodge was supposed to be a cool rare extra, if you pushed the button right as the enemy was practically in your face, and shooting them would look silly at that distance.
>It was never meant to be mastered, that's why there was no dedicated dodge button. They wanted you to still feel vulnerable
This sounds like some bullshit you made up in your head.

that's because the demo makes you want to trigger nemesis
it's not a bug

>The story of any Resident Evil is a laughable b movie story at best and the characters of the original were cardboard thin
On surface level sure, but the lore of RE1-3 is very extensive, so it's dumb Capcom pretty much ignored it when remaking RE2 where as in REmake 1, they not only added more to the lore, went back and fix other things.

See this Limbs disappear after you shoot them. And you can't cut off the arms/legs off a zombie after they're down. Overall it's a downgrade in the sense that you can't chip away a zombie's limbs and body parts as you should.

Same

I don't remember where I read it but one of the devs actually had said that the dodge was purposely that way

>too much ammo

its a demo, probably on easy, faggot
shut up

other shit? idk, its an RE2 blanket over an RE3 plot.

standard

Is there a reward for destroying all the dolls?

I want an interview link.

If they wanted the dodge not to be mastered, then they shouldn't have made it based on execution. And dodge RNG is honestly worse design.

nothing important

>NOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT MY WAIFU'S GAME

It's not a bug. You must trigger Nemesis.

Yeah but people talk about now like it was Max Payne. It definitely was considered a horror game at the time and I consider it still to be a horror game.

You know games can be mashups of genres, right?

RE3 is a survival horror game through and through, but it's way, way more actiony than the two games that preceded it. That's not a bad thing, just how it is.

>Complaining about ammo
>In a remake of RE3
Also the amount of ammo is no different than REmake 2

Jill’s face is ehhhh, manly looking. Really wish they had used a different model or kept Voth. Did anyone else think the game was too dark? Would have been nice to have the option to manually turn on flashlight.

ok, i say hard is the REAL play through
your gonna play it at least twice

fuck OP

>nemenose just zips through the ceiling at the end
what the fuck

Attached: 1556247559706.jpg (424x424, 11.04K)

>manly looking
>Did anyone else think the game was too dark?

confirmed blind

>Would have been nice to have the option to manually turn on flashlight.
This is the kind of stuff they should have added to the game.

I prefer action horror to boring survival horror. not enough games in the genre.

> kept Voth
Vothfags are the worst.
