I was playing this for the first time and really fucking enjoying it until I got to a part where I’m meant to sneak into a military camp at night and retrieve something.

I was playing on the hardest difficulty and it was borderline impossible to go in guns blazing without cheesing or looking up guides. So I tried waiting until night time like it recommends, but I swear it just never fucking got dark. I even waited around for 12+ hours in-game hours and kept checking for the sun to fuck off and nothing. Is this a bug or something?

Also, are there any bugfix or quality of life mods that I should get for a first playthrough?

People here will tell you to not play with mods the first time but honestly you should because they greatly improve the game. Not sure what the best one is anymore because it's been years since I've played.

I recently did the same mission on master mode. You're not supposed to go in guns blazing. Get something with a scope, and sneak around the side. I grenaded the guys posted in front from the bushes to the right (if you're facing the base) and then picked off the ones inside with my scoped gun. Then I waited for the others to come back and shot them from behind the base's cover.

Did you get filtered by the bandit hideout raid at the start?
