yes, and I'm not comparing it to gw1. I'm comparing it to the other mmos on the market. Compared to other modern mmos, I think its pretty good.

I hate on it because the combat fucking sucks. I can't comment on the pvp but it looks great, it's everything I've ever wanted in any MMO that I actually like. gw2 isn't one of them. the combat is fucking trash and so is the art style

Cause the greats like XI and WoW have been updated to a point that have been adjusted for the player with no time for social interaction or extended grind. The other issue is that MMOs have also stayed pretty stagnant with most of their core designs with WoW and XIV being the biggest offenders at the time being. People want something reminiscent of older MMOs in the sense of social interaction and the importance of the world but without being tied down by the instancing and tab targeting of WoW/XIV but with no company wanting to take risks what is desired will always be conflicting ideas till someone actually releases a game that finally breaks off the WoW and WoW-clone mold.

the combat is a mixture of point and click and action combat. And in both things its fucking terrible. The combat itself doesnt know what it wants to be.

tera had the best combat ever in a mmo.
However current state combat is fucking stupid. I hate how fast it got, to the point its just fucking spamming everything at once. You cant evade anything because it happens too fast to react. It was best during launch.

and the combat still feels clunky
